We recently hosted an art show for Kerry Irvine at 3 World Trade Center, and we wanted to hear from several of the world class artists in this blossoming community. From longtime artist Conrad Stojak, to photographer/artist Parker Calvert, to sculptor Michaela Roman - hear what they all have to say about this art studio in the sky!
A few of our team members at Silverstein decided to participate in the “Pass the Phone Challenge” during our summer party. And apparently, we are all having a brat summer!

Garodnick is the architect of the ambitious initiative, which aims to modernize zoning regulations to support small businesses, create affordable housing, and promote sustainability.

One thing about our Silverstein portfolio: there's never a shortage of places to work hard, and play even harder- even WHILE you're at work!
What does a 100-year old bank vault, a detective’s office, and an 80s arcade have in common? They’re all unique features of 120 Broadway, one of Lower Manhattan’s premiere office buildings with top notch amenities. Which spot would you choose to explore first?
We are pleased to announce a new joint venture with Cantor Fitzgerald and Turnbull Development, LLC for for a development in Summerville, SC.
Turnbull Development, LLC (a Charleston-based development firm) intends to develop a mixed-use project encompassing 365 garden-style multifamily units across three buildings, and a 40,000-square-foot medical office building in Summerville, SC.

🎉 Today marks the 20th anniversary of an iconic moment in the official rebuilding of the World Trade Center! On July 4, 2004, New York took a monumental step towards reclaiming its iconic skyline. A 20-ton garnet-speckled granite cornerstone was laid, paving the way for the 1,776-foot Freedom Tower, now known as One World Trade Center. “Once again,” said Mayor Michael Bloomberg, "the world's tallest building will rise in Lower Manhattan."
Read about this monumental day and more in Larry Silverstein's upcoming book, "The Rising: The Twenty-Year Battle to Rebuild the World Trade Center." Pre-order your copy today!

We re-opened The Bankers Club in the summer of 2019 (with more club, and less bankers)- turning it into a bright and energized amenity lounge with one of the best rooftops in the city. We thought you might like to see this cool piece of NYC history that shows the old school invitation to the ORIGINAL Bankers Club atop the Equitable Building (120 Broadway), when it first opened - July 1, 1915!
"The genesis of Silver Art Projects can be traced back to the 1980s when Larry Silverstein built the first 7 World Trade Center. According to the lore, as recounted by Silverstein Properties CMO Dara McQuillan, the senior Silverstein had around that time fallen in love with Carmen Red granite, and “it was on the outside and on the inside—he put it everywhere.” But on the day he opened the building, Silverstein walked into the three-story high lobby and thought it looked like nothing so much as a mausoleum. He called his wife, Klara Silverstein, to come down and tell him if he was crazy or not, and when she saw it, she said, ‘Yeah, that’s pretty much it.’ The couple would spend the next decade buying art that changed the look and feel of 7WTC for the better.
They started with these massive Frank Stella pieces,” McQuillan tells Observer. “They borrowed this Calder from the Port Authority and put it right in front of the building. Over the years, they breathed life into it with these very beautiful and very large pieces of art, really transforming it.”"
Learn all about the many artists continuing to breathe life into the new World Trade Center in this great new article from Observer!
The World Trade Center Offers Case Studies in Making Space for Artists in Urban Centers What if, instead of pricing artists out of cities, real estate developers could bring them back?
💙 Here at Silverstein, we strive to cultivate an inclusive culture where everyone is encouraged to bring their whole, authentic selves to work, embracing diverse perspectives and fostering mutual growth and respect.
🏳️🌈 In this spotlight, we are proud to feature Eric Kanata, who joined our Asset Management team earlier this year.
❓Tell us about yourself and what you do at Silverstein.
🔵 I grew up on the north shore of Long Island in a small town called Laurel Hollow and went to Fordham University for undergrad. I currently reside in SoHo.
❓What is your professional history before joining Silverstein?
🔵 I worked for a family office on the Upper East Side doing residential property management, then worked in accounting at Industry City for Jamestown, and most recently was an asset manager at L&L Holding Company.
❓What does Pride Month mean to you personally?
🔵 Pride Month, for me personally, represents a time of celebration, reflection, and advocacy. It is also a period to honor the history and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community. On a deeper level, Pride Month signifies a celebration of individuality and the freedom to express one's true self without fear of judgment or discrimination.
❓How can individuals become better allies to the LGBTQ+ community?
🔵 Becoming a better ally to the LGBTQ+ community involves active learning, empathy, and advocacy. Showing visible support, creating inclusive environments, and challenging our own biases by being more self-reflective all go a long way.
❓What’s something you think people can do, especially during Pride Month, to gain awareness about important issues impacting the global LGBTQ+ community?
🔵 During Pride Month, we can take several meaningful actions to gain awareness about important issues regarding the LGBTQ+ community such as educating ourselves on current issues, attending events and panels, and supporting LGBTQ+ organizations such as the Trevor Project and the Human Dignity Trust.
❓What is one LGBTQ+ community misconception you would like to educate others?
🔵 There are quite a few, but the first one that comes to mind is that our words and actions can turn or influence young kids to be gay. This not only perpetuates the notion that being gay is something wrong or to be ashamed of, but it also leads to young kids internalizing their feelings which can then turn into negative and sometimes destructive life choices – all because of how they were born.
❓If you could have dinner with any LGBTQ+ icon, past or present, who would it be and why?
🔵 I would pick Andy Warhol. Besides being a fan of his art and finding him to be an interesting person, at his time he was arguably the most famous gay man in the world and his influence and art helped integrate LGBTQ+ culture into broader societal trends.
