Myofascial release (MFR) is a gentle yet deep form of bodywork. It requires listening to the patientโs body, engaging with the fascia, and allowing it to unwind. Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place. When stressed, the web can tighten, distort, or shrink. By helping the fascia unwind, it creates more space and thus helps things circulate better.
MFR can be used for pain, blockages, and realigning various parts of the body.

I tell my students to forget about looking perfect and focus on engaging the right muscles as well as mobilizing the joints. From movement to meditation, we are all a work in progress. Improving and always striving for a higher level is great, but itโs important to have fun right where you are.
