Adobe After Effects, the industry-standard software for 2D animation and visual effects, is used to create motion graphics for broadcast, film, video, and social media marketing. In this course, master the essentials of designing and creating motion graphics projects from the ground up: working with layers and layer mattes, creating keyframe-based animations, importing video and layered Photoshop and Illustrator files, animating logos and text, creating shape morphs, applying effects, and working in 3D space. Learn how to export videos to formats from GIF to MP4 and QuickTime videos for Facebook, Instagram, websites, and Snapchat. Get hands-on practice through in-class exercises, detailed handouts, video lessons, and homework assignments. Quickly get comfortable with After Effects and its myriad capabilities for creating and enhancing digital video. Working knowledge of one or more of the following is required: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or any nonlinear video editing program (AVID, Final Cut Pro, or Premiere Pro). Celtic Art: From the Iron Age to the 20th Century This course examines the art of the Celtic world, from its shadowy origins in central Europe’s Iron Age until its reimagination in the 19th and 20th centuries under Ireland’s Celtic Revival. In between, we’ll explore the spread of the Celtic style across Europe to Asia Minor, witness its conversion to Christianity, and explore its influential legacy in early medieval Irish and British art. Come discover the rich artistic traditions of the Celts through breathtaking examples of metalwork, jewelry, enamel, sculpture, and illuminated manuscripts. Dulcie September, the ANC Representative for France, Luxembourg, and Switzerland was assassinated in Paris in March 1988 during the French Presidential Campaign. 33 years after her assassination, French Advocate Yves Laurin, acting on behalf of Dulcie September’s family, took action to re-open the case. The documentary, Murder in Paris is being submitted as evidence in support of the case. Dulcie September’s life is a reminder to current day South Africa that the purpose of all the sacrifices and past struggles were not in vain and that a just South Africa is possible. Her story inspires those who strive for democracy and social justice, shining a light on a selfless unsung hero. Her story is the story of many activists around the world today, taking a stand against corruption and injustice.
