Last Friday, we hosted a group of students from Building Beats at the Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park! Our Production Manager, Yaw, gave them a tour of the venue and spoke about the ins and outs of event production and all of the work that goes into putting on a SummerStage show. We’re throwing it back (3 weeks) to our run on Staten Island! We loved seeing everyone in Stapleton Waterfront Park and the integration of the community input we received. From face painting and sidewalk chalk to representatives from local institutions, we created a family-friendly atmosphere and strengthened our connection to the community in the surrounding area.
This was possible thanks to a generous grant from the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a national social impact funder at the intersection of music, public space and community building!
