IVDU TAKES HOME FIRST PLACE!🥇 At this year’s CIJE Innovation Day competition, Ivdu boys school won first place for the “Engineering for School” category. 🔥🎉 Comment congrats 👇 and we’ll send you the full video! This was IVDU’s first time entering the competition and the first time a Special Ed school competed in Innovation Day. Their creation, the Campus Communicator, was one of over 500 prototypes presented at Innovation Day. The project solves a common challenge encountered in most schools, where students and staff are frequently disrupted by intercom announcements. Resembling a pager and built into students’ desks, the equipment operates independently of Wi-Fi — protecting it from being hacked, and freeing schools from having to grant students internet access. Ivdu, a division of our Yachad department, is a special education school that provides boys and girls from ages kindergarten - 21 with mild-to-moderate learning, social, and development delays with the education and resources they need to help them thrive. @theouisrael brings sunshine to farms in Israel every week! 🍊✨ Since the war began, many farmers were called back to the army to fight for our country. Their farms were left with no one to harvest or take care of the land. OU Israel stepped up and organized weekly trips to farms with volunteers from the US and Anglo olim in Israel to help ensure that their crops and land wouldn’t go to waste. Recent OU Israel farm volunteer opportunities included picking pears, hot peppers, avocados, and grapefruits. This week, the volunteers helped out on a clementine farm near Kidron. Yom Hazikaron is Israel’s Day of Remembrance for those who gave their lives for our homeland and our people. It is a day of grief, focused on those whose dedication to Am Yisrael was complete, as well as a day of commitment to our faith in our purpose and destiny as a nation. In honor of Yom Hazikaron and with the goal of strengthening the spirit and unity of the Jewish people, the Orthodox Union partnered with Bnei David to produce a film of Emunah and remembrance for the American Jewish community.
