I love being Greek- Ep:2 🧿 Those who know me know how proud I am of my Greek heritage 🇬🇷 Growing up in a Greek American environment was truly a blessing for me. My first language happened to be Greek before going to kindergarten to begin learning English. As my parents migrated from Greece over to America in the 60s, not losing their Greek roots was super important to them and even more as they began building a family. As little as three years old, I already was traveling to Greece for vacation to spend many summers with grandparents and cousins and as I remember later in my childhood and adulthood Greece became a second home to me. Speaking it fluently, breathing in the essence of this beautiful country into my soul, beautiful memories of cooking Greek with mom and grandmother, now owning a Greek restaurant @elaia_hamptons , dancing Greek and loving Greek music wholeheartedly, loving all my “big fat Greek gatherings” with friends and yes even married to a Greek 💙 - are you Greek’d out already? 😂 Well I’m not 🇬🇷🇬🇷💙🤍💙…It’s all of this plus my values, my roots, and all of life experiences that continue to make me know myself and make me wiser! ✨ This is why I also love this quote that is on this cover page by the Greek philosopher - 𝒜𝓇𝒾𝓈𝓉ℴ𝓉𝓁ℯ “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” 💙 #sofiacrokosevents 🎥 by @kallarina17 (SCE&L social media) 🎤 from @hellenicprofwomen
