Watch Chloe's incredible athleticism in slo-mo as she flies high to catch a ball:
Our 1-year-old student BUTTER visits for a week while Mom & Dad bicycle in Spain and France. Butter is a pure white lab and is therefore a super water dog, and expert at tug-of-war with Hunter.
Little 8 lb. Bella is back for 3 weeks while Mom & Dad vacation. She has become very capable in the art of natation!
Chloe and Hunter enjoy their pool time tug of war. Hunter still emerges victorious, but Chloe is getting stronger every day and never gives up trying!
Training a new pup is a 24/7 job until he/she learns and obeys the COME command. Sophie did it in 3 days!
#1 spectator sport - some of us may get more excited about it than others. Especially if you have money on the line.
Watch Murphy's very first voluntary swim, a result of a week of training and coaxing. Once a dog takes this leap he/she loses all fear of the water and of leaving terra firma, and becomes an able swimmer.
Boot camp student MURPHY is proving to be a top-notch learner. Watch this excellent heeling and focus in only a week of training. Heeling tip for everyone: mix up your walks with turns, changing speeds, zigzags, ovals, circles, all to keep your dog focused, attentive, and zeroed in on YOU!
Chloe our golden is a self-appointed swim instructor. Watch her try to coax mini labradoodle MURPHY, our new student, into the pool. Not this time, but she will succeed for sure!
Poppie is back with all 3 legs, and she has found a new playmate in Bella, all 8 lbs of her. The spunky little one is quite the instigator, and Poppie (Catahoula leopard dog) carefully shows her gentle side during play. Very entertaining!
2 days later Little Miss Bella has mastered the stairs, dispelling all fear and showing confidence and coordination in descending:
Meet Cherry, former US Marine, and her 3 month old Aussiedoodle GRACE. As you know the COME command is our #1 priority and in her "pre-service dog puppy program" Grace is acing it! This training works beautifully with 2 trainers as you can see. Grace will be more than ready to begin her full program at 6 months.
It is that time again, and the pups are ready and eager. German shorthair pointer Maisie is in service training and doing great. Mom said she was terrified of the water and it took some doing to get her in, but her natural athleticism took over immediately and off she went!
Training day for service-dogs-to-be Maisie and shepherd Zoey. An hour in Food Lion proved very successful. Heeling without being distracted by patrons or food is the goal, and both kids performed beautifully. Lots more to achieve and master, but we are on the way!
Husky student SIMBA has been a real challenge with the TAKE/GIVE task, but patience and perseverance pays off. Finally, after 2 months of relentless practice, Simba decided it is just easier to take the darn thing when commanded. Now that he has the concept and willingness to obey we can proceed to finish the job. Yay!
