On Tuesday, Carol Sutton Lewis, founder of Ground Control Parenting, hosted an informative and inspiring discussion on raising Black and Brown children. Carol has dedicated the past 25 years to sharing practical information and resources to help parents develop smart, thoughtful, confident young adults. The conversation ranged from mental health to technology to ways to best support your child. Thank you, Carol, for sharing your expertise! Here, Carol responds to the question, “How do you support your child when they are struggling?”

Family and friends joined us in celebrating students’ creativity at our recent visual arts showcase in partnership with The Harlem School of the Arts. Students worked with professional teaching artists to create imaginative pieces for the exhibition, including large-scale murals, clay sculptures, and prints inspired by the Harlem Renaissance. What a wonderful evening of artistic expression!

Our 6th graders’ poignant words, confidence, and hard work were on full display at their poetry performance. We are grateful for our partnership with the Poetry Society of America and Trace DePass for guiding students through the writing and revision process these past few weeks alongside our excellent English teachers. Enjoy the clip of EJ reciting her poem on the beauty of being biracial, and follow the link for more highlights! https://bit.ly/40O4ay3
