Second Stage Theater (2ST) produces bold theatrical experiences from America’s most dynamic playwrights.
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Evan Cabnet as the incoming Artistic Director at Second Stage! He succeeds founding Artistic Director Carole Rothman; “and it’s my hope, it’s my task, it’s my dream to uphold and honor [her] legacy. The mission will remain the same.” Evan will program his first season in 2025/26, following Interim Artistic Director Bennett Leak's upcoming season of two Broadway and three Off-Broadway productions.

Beginning in November, Cult of Love by Emmy Award® nominee Leslye Headland (Bachelorette, “Star Wars: The Acolyte”) comes to Broadway at the Hayes Theater, and Lunar Eclipse from Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies (Dinner with Friends, Collected Stories) is at the Tony Kiser Theater starting in October.

I’m super excited for [director] Lila [Neugebauer]. I’m super excited for Sarah [Paulson], for Corey [Stoll]. I mean, all of our designers got nominated. This is the best. I respect and love these artists so much. We had an amazing time working together and making this thing together. It’s just been such a special, enchanted experience. And for this to be really my first time on the Broadway, I’m a little bit speechless.”
