Our pastor has said many times, there will be something come along the road of life you will not be able to handle on your own. Things may be going smooth, then all of sudden, something hits you hard, and you were not expecting it.

Matthew 7:24-27 reads: “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And everyone that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

The storms of calamity, persecution, affliction, or death of a loved one may suddenly and without warning come upon you as a storm rises completely out of nowhere and causes much damage from high winds and torrential rains. You need to be rooted and grounded in Christ, so the storm doesn’t sweep you away and cause you to fall. God has grace to help in time of need. The storms of life are meant to settle you and keep you relying on the God of all grace. They are not meant to take you down. However, if you have failed to build your house on the Rock, Christ Jesus, and on His Word, that storm can destroy you spiritually.

Are you building your spiritual house on the Rock? Or are you building on the sinking sand? The Bible says it rains on the just and on the unjust. It’s not a matter of “if” the storm is coming but “when.” Are you prepared for whatever is coming your way? Is the Lord your refuge from the storm? May God bless you is my prayer.

Look at those proud waves! The Bible says in Job 38:11 “Here shall thy proud waves be stayed.” Jeremiah 5:22 tells us He placed the sand as a boundary. There is a law placed by God that the waves cannot pass. Though they “toss themselves, yet they cannot prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it.” Psalm 89:9 says that God rules the raging of the sea. When the waves arise, He stills them. Those waves come crashing in. They are fierce and powerful, yet they have to go back into the ocean because God said, “You can only go so far.” What an awesome God! Even the waves obey His will and cannot pass the boundaries He has set for them. Those waves remind me of how the enemy comes in, roaring with pride, attempting to bring fear and discouragement. He wants to overwhelm me and overtake me. God says to the enemy of my soul: “That is it. You can only go so far.” God is in control. He will never allow those waves to overtake me. Those waves are powerful enough to sweep me off my feet, but only if I’m too close to the shore. I can trust God who is in control of the waves. Sister Annette Hupp #godsworddailydevotions

There are times when strong winds are blowing. We can’t see the wind, but we know it’s there. We can feel the breeze. We can see the effects by watching the trees move. Sometimes, the wind can be severe enough to blow objects around and take out the electric. We can hear the wind too. It can be loud. John 3:8 says, “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” Jesus compared the wind to a person who becomes born again of the Spirit of God. We can’t see the work that God does on the inside of an individual, but we can see the effects. There is no denying that a change has taken place. When the wind blows, we don’t know where it comes from or where it’s going, but we know it’s there. We don’t know how God does it, but we know He does it. He is still changing lives today. I’m glad He made a definite change in my life one day. He worked a miracle in me. And He can do the same for you. If you need God to make a change in you, He is more than able. If you need prayer, feel free to reach out and we will pray for you, no matter what the need is. Have a blessed day. Sister Annette Hupp #godsworddailydevotions

Proverbs 6:6 says, “Go to the ant thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.” What are the ways of an ant? Ants are social; they are not individualists. They work hard for the colony. They are “workers together,” as we should be. Each ant has its own job. The queen’s only job is to lay eggs. The male’s job is to mate with the queen. The females are the workers. They feed and care for the larvae, take out the colony’s trash, forage for food and supplies, and defend the nest. When a worker ant leaves the nest, she puts out a chemical trail so she can find her way back home. If something happens to that trail, she has lost her purpose in life and will eventually die. Proverbs 30:24 says the ant is one of four things that are little upon the earth but “exceeding wise.” Verse 25 says, “The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer.” An ant can carry items more than 50 times her weight. So why does the scripture say that ants are a people not strong? They cannot use their impressive strength for selfish purposes. They cannot survive on their own. Ants are the ultimate team workers. Together, they prepare for all possible problems. Their summer is spent preparing for the winter. They are dormant in the winter, so they work to build a colony. When the weather is cold, they huddle together to keep warm. A single ant would freeze to death on its own. Ants are wise because they stick together. An ant protected by other ants is like a soldier in an army. Some ants become infected with a deadly and highly contagious fungus. Instead of isolating and quarantining themselves from the diseased ant, healthy ants immediately embrace the sick ant, licking the deadly fungal spores from the ant. Infected ants are not left to deal with the infection on their own and die. Healthy ants share the burden. Galatians 6:2 says, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” God is expecting us to embrace those

The Unseen Hand by A. J. Sims: Verse 1: There is an Unseen Hand to me That leads through ways I cannot see While going through this world of woe This Hand still leads me as I go Chorus: I'm trusting to the Unseen Hand That guides me through this weary land And some sweet day I'll reach that strand Still guided by the Unseen Hand Verse 2: This Hand has led through shadows drear And while it leads I have no fear I know 'twill lead me to that home Where sin nor sorrow e're can come Verse 3: I long to see my Savior's face And sing the story I've been saved by grace And there upon that golden strand I'll praise Him for His guiding Hand Once I was in a terrible crash. I am thankful for the protecting Hand of God that kept me safe! It's only by the grace of God I received very minor injuries, considering the other individual rolled twice and was ejected from her vehicle. Had any of several factors been different, I could have been seriously injured or killed. I am so thankful for the Unseen Hand of God and many angels that have protected me many times. Verse 1 says, “That leads through ways I cannot see.” Sometimes we don’t know why things happen, they may not completely make sense to us, but God has a plan. I am trusting to the Unseen Hand! God's Hand will lead us through life if we will hold on just as a child holds the hand of his parent. Verse 2 says, “While it leads I have no fear!” Do we have the same child-like faith to trust the Father? God’s Hand and Word will lead us all the way to heaven. Reach out to the Father today who with outstretched arms is waiting for you! This Hand is strong enough to pick us up and carry us. Luke 4:10-11 says, “He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.” May God's Hand ever protect you! “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy ro
