Dr. Doug Swift discusses the history of an area of Southeast Ohio through his multimedia documentary, 10,000 Acres. Everything from the earliest settlement to coal strip mining, and the birth of the Wilds is covered in this Downtown Newark program.

It's official!! The 2023 Newark Battle of the Badges will be played August 19, 2023 at Don Edwards Park!

This years charity softball tournament will benefit local animal rescues. Some adopable pets from Licking County Humane Society and Licking County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center will be at the park the day of the event.

📢 Attention, Licking County community! United Way of Licking County's Community Partners Council is hosting a thought-provoking forum on the topic of transportation in our county, and we invite you to join the conversation!⁠

The meeting, open to the public, will be held at the Licking County Aging Partners at 1058 East Main Street in Newark from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

Our featured panelist will be Matt Allison for this forum.

Matt Allison serves as the Executive Director of Licking County Transit on behalf of the Central Ohio Transit Authority. He currently acts as a member of the COTA Executive Leadership Team and previously served as the Chief of Transit Operations for COTA.

Since Matt joined Licking County Transit in May of 2022, the organization has made significant changes and growth including a new branding makeover, increased transit Operators, high retention rate, improved facility, upgraded safety equipment, new employee appreciation culture, expanded scheduling, the launch of new services, and more.

The Salvation Army will serve lunch at many locations throughout Newark and Licking County this summer, beginning on June 5 and lasting through August 11. Locations in Newark include Carson Elementary, Coble Park, the Fountain at Buckingham, Neal Avenue UMC, Newark Townhomes, the Salvation Army, Wright Memorial UMC and the YES Club.
