WHY? Why would someone do this behind the free standing pantry on Franklin st and on Church property. Who ever it was decided to dump a huge box of squash or sweet potato I don't even know what it is on the ground and then dump beans all down the sidewalk. So this morning I had to go pick it up by hand. I built this pantry for this community so people had a place to get extra food and people are just vandalizing and destroying the food. So since people can't act like adults we are installing cameras and we will prosecute for anyone who thinks it's funny to do this. If it keeps happening I will tear it down because obviously this town doesn't need it.

A little note from the Newark Food closet. The free standing pantry on the corner of S.Main st and Franklin is not a dumping ground for junk or garbage. The pantry is strictly for food or personal hygiene items. It is not for your broken appliances, books etc. If it is not food it will be thrown away. It takes alot of my time to keep the pantry up for the community by myself so please be mindful of what you put in it. Thank you

The Newark Food Closet is in desperate need for your help. We are running very, very low on food. Due to the increase of families needing our help it has become very hard to keep up and supply families with food. We have helped 77 families in 8 days so far. So, we are asking for people to have food drives or consider a monetary donation so we may go buy the food. Every little bit helps. We are in need of everything at this point. You may drop off at the food closet Mon-Fri 10-12 or we do offer pick up or you can drop donations off at Citizen bank during their banking hours. Thank you for your support.
