Telling the story of the wildlife in a planet under pressure.
This photo would surely be disqualified in a competition, but now one is much more aware of what one does and even then it will not be easy to achieve it, but it is what makes us go out every day.
I've spent this weekend studying what the judges look for when they rate Wildlife Photography's best photo of the year competitions and let me tell you, it's not at all easy to achieve.
The good thing is to be learning and knowing how to differentiate between a good photo and an exceptional photo.
Photo that is dramatic, that has details, that shows what the hook of the photo is, anticipation is better vs the exact moment, distractions in the photo, busy backgrounds, keep in mind that in some competitions they ask you for the original file, that has good dynamics range, that you have not blown up the highlights, that you do not have combinations in temperatures, color space, do not crop, do not put the subject in the center, pay attention to contrast, rule of thirds.
Anyway, those are some things I remember. It is always important to learn and even more so when you love something.
The result will always be to improve oneself.

Help keep geese and ducks with their babies safe this spring.
Normally we will find them trying to cross the sidewalks, streets or even crossing in front of us when we are at the Lake, Dam or anywhere.
Cooper's hawks captures this Rock Pigeon in the Chattahoochee River, West Point Dam.
A very exciting moment, when you didn't expect it.
He caught it in the air, while I was talking to a guy.
I couldn't believe it, my reaction was late and I didn't start shooting until he landed on this wall.
Otter River in the Chattahoochee River.
My favorite osprey photo in all these years.
Blue-grey Gnatcatcher.
The Blue-grey Gnatcatcher repeatedly hit the barred owl on the head, very quickly. I actually missed some shots trying to document the scene, but I was able to pull this one off.
Lol.
Barred Owl pair in Peachtree City.
Fearful and always high in the trees.
Hard to find.
Female Northern Harrier hunting cows.
I was very lucky to be able to photograph this female.
In general, the male always allows photos to be taken, while she stays high in the tree.
What helped me was hiding waiting for the male to come out, but she arrived first and was very focused looking into the distance without realizing that I was photographing her or maybe what she saw was much more important.
Little things that happen, that make my day pleasant. 😊
One of my favorite barred owl. He puts on good shows.
