Carl Jung said the ego is the seat of anxiety. And anxiety leads to depression. Anxiety and depression isn’t a disease. You don’t need drugs. As Jung explained, it’s all about the ego, specifically the self centered-ness of the ego. This is why we cling on to self-pity, secretly wanting to be a victim, wearing it like a badge of honor. That’s why it reacts so badly when someone like me tells ego to stop feeling sorry for itself. When you stop making it all about you and instead tap into your true purpose in life and using it to serve others, anxiety and depression dissolve, because service dissolves ego. Your true divine self is here to serve. Disconnect from self-pity and reconnect to purpose.
