Gut health is so important for our overall well-being and immune system. By fixing these 3 common mistakes you can start healing your gut, have more energy and less bloating. 1. The most common problem I encounter is my patient’s eating way too much raw and cold food/beverages (think salads, sushi, raw veggies, ice water, ice cream, just to name a few). In traditional Chinese medicine our metabolism is thought of like a furnace - to get it going properly we need the right fuel; dry and warm are always best, especially first thing in the morning. Good examples are hot tea, oatmeal, cooked eggs, rice porridge, etc. 2. Not taking a good probiotic! I recommend ALL of my patient’s get a good probiotic to help counteract existing gut issues and fortify our immune system. My favorite is from metagenics. 3. Drinking coffee on an empty stomach. Almost all of us love coffee (me included), and many of us like to have that first cup as soon as we open our eyes. But coffee is very acidic, and can contribute to inflammation in the gut - especially without anything in there to buffer it. So resist the urge and instead start with a cup of herbal tea, and then move onto your coffee with breakfast. #traditionalchinesemedicine #guthealth #womenshealth
