Navy Vice Adm. Stuart B. Munsch for appointment to the grade of admiral, and assignment as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Europe; commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Africa; and commander, Allied Joint Forces Command, Naples, Italy. Munsch is currently serving as director for Joint Force Development, J-7, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Just wanted to share on this page. Jay Orlando passed away this past week. Here is what his wife posted:

My dearest husband Jay Orlando, I can’t believe you left us so quickly and without any way to say goodbye, to tell you how much we loved you, needed you and wanted you in our lives. The outpouring of love our family has received over the last 2 days has been unbelievable. The one running theme is how much people thought of you as one of the kindest people they ever met. I always thought Bella got that from me, but maybe I was wrong. I will never know, on this side of heaven, why God chose to take you so soon, and without any warning, but I know you are in heaven with him as I write this.

I am sure you were met there by Pop’s, Aunt Joan Aunt Vicki, Grandma Helen and Gina, and I am hoping you have finally met my Grandpa Hank. We will forever love and miss you.

Oh boy. There is a lot of interest in a reunion. I believe we should expand the time frame from just the commissioning crew to include those who made the maiden WESTPAC. Also, I think we all believed the country would be open for travel by now. Unless someone else wants to push forward with a reunion this year (i.e, I can't travel w/o approval - Go Navy!), I intend to push to summer of 2022. For the most part people are interested in Jefferson City, but I will get cost for both locations (Pearl Harbor and Jefferson City) and will check ship's schedule. More to follow.

Also, it has been suggested to include those who made the maiden WESTPAC. I think many of us who were plankowners also made the WESTPAC. Something to consider as we move forward.

Created this FB page to gather information to start planning for a Plankowner reunion. Not sure where yet. It has been suggested to hold it in Hawaii (ship's location) or Jefferson City. I think we are about a year or two from actual reunion (if enough people show interest). This is my first FB page so be kind. More to follow.
