The journey starts here. Did you know that every pumpkin plant is started in our greenhouse before it is transplanted into our field? Piper Jean is making sure that they are all well watered.

As we embark on our 2024 season, we wanted to kick it off with something truly special. These girls have been diligently working hard for the past few pumpkin seasons and carefully saved every penny from their Shimek Sisters Annual Pumpkin Sale. Our community has shown us immense support, and as a token of gratitude, Ruthie and Piper Jean decided to give back by donating a percentage of their earnings to the Lakes Area Food Shelf. September 30th and October 1st in Nisswa at the Shimek Sisters farm did you know for our sale we also have a few of our friends with small businesses we love to support.

Kyann's Cookies will have a booth of amazing custom sugar cookies that are momma Shimek's personal addiction.

Bee'n Happy Farms will have their local honey for sale, they keep bees on our farm to keep our pumpkin patch pollinated.

Lookout Soap Company will also be bringing their handmade soaps.

We look forward to seeing you all during our annual pumpkin sale. We are only open 1 weekend a year so come and get your pumpkins, gourds and fall crafts.

This is just a small amount of huge Jack ' O Lanterns that we picked off the aisle of the patch. We can't wait to see what else is hiding out there. We have a good variety of sizes and gourds GALORE.

FALL IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR!

We are back at it.

Fingers crossed for pumpkin sale fall of 2023.

These girls are ready to see everyone and sell them fall decoration, crafts and most importantly...pumpkins!!

It is with heavy hearts that we are having to cancel our annual pumpkin sale.

We planted 1200 plants and had next to no pumpkins produce. Normally that would have yielded over 1500 pumpkins of all sizes and colors, but not this year.

We weeded and fertilized and tore what hair poor Dad had left out of his head.

We are devastated and will miss seeing and visiting all our friends family and our wonderful customers we have come to know the last few years.

Don't worry. We will be back better and stronger for 2023.

It's the most wonderful time of the year....seed ordering... dreaming and planning.

Hey everyone!! Today is trailer loading day for our pumpkins!

All of our pumpkins are excited for their new homes!! Can't wait to see you all on October 2nd!

We are getting excited for fall.

We do have to warn all of our awesome followers and customers....this drought has done a number on us this year.

The good news... 🎃
We so far have a good amount of Jack O Lantern sized pumpkins.

The bad news... 👻👻
Our specialty pumpkins, like our blue ones, our pink and white ones which were new this year.. ( we are so disappointed.) Didn't make it through the deer attacks and the dry weather.

The worst news 🪦. 💩

Our irrigation well has gone dry as of today.

We will be doing our best to bring you all what we can, however it will be limited amounts of awesomeness...so watch for updates starting in September.

The Pumpkins are coming!! We are so excited! Can't wait for fall!

We are struggling with this drought, fair warning, we will most likely not have ornamental corn as we are losing the drought battle for our corn. .

We are blessed that our little farm isn't our only source of income, and that animals aren't depending on our crops. Pray for the farmers that are wondering how they will feed their livestock this winter. Pray for the farmer whose income depends on their harvest.

2021 Pumpkin season....Here we go! Let's get this party started!

Fun fact....Shimek Sisters....starts every pumpkin plant by hand, and plants them all by hand once the soil temps allow.

We are getting a head start this year. We started out throwing seeds in our manure compost pile in 2018, then we graduated to a 4x6 small tent green house with shelves in 2019, then in 2020 we used the 4x6 and a few small deck green house shelves and a 17ft hoop house trailer.
2021 brings us a 10x 20 hoop house and our 17ft hoop house trailer.

We are excited for the growth and can't wait to see what 2021 brings!

This is our favorite seed company, last year we exclusively bought their seed for our pumpkin patch. They asked on their page for pictures of their pumpkins from the 2020 harvest. They loved our pictures so much they asked if they could use our pictures for their social media. Super excited to see their post about our little family.

We are so happy that the Shimek family shared their beautiful pumpkin patch with us! The entire family, including the children age 2 and 4, get involved in growing! They say that pumpkin time is their favorite time of year and it shows! Please give some love to this gardening family!
