The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings took a refreshing detour from the typical conference scene, trading in the usual convention halls for the stunning Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds on the Monterey Peninsula! Breathtaking Views at Asilomar: Where Innovation Meets Nature perfectly describes this event, as attendees explored ideas for a greener future amidst cabins sprinkled across 107 acres of breathtaking scenery, surrounded by indigenous flora and a picturesque rocky coast. A Unique Venue for a Unique Event: American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy Summer Study meant more than just soaking in the beauty. The Energy Efficiency with a View concept really came to life with conference spaces that inspire, showcasing the picturesque coastline as a backdrop. Behind the scenes, ON Services was busy mastering AV in a Coastal Paradise. Among over a dozen cabins spread across this state park, it took clever logistics to ensure a seamless AV setup. From distributing gear throughout the vast property to setting up digital wayfinding signage and schedules, we made sure attendees never missed a moment—or lost their way! Our belief? The Meyer Sound PA system, consisting of 32 Leopards, 24 Linas, 6 LFC-900s, and 8 MJF-212 wedges, truly made a difference. A highlight of the event was keynote speaker Astronaut Jose Hernandez. His inspiring journey to NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration was showcased in the movie "Million Miles Away," played by Michael Peña, which detailed his incredible life story and success. The final show night featured the phenomenal supergroup Ezra Ray Hart, comprising Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra, and Emerson Hart of Tonic.
