Today is National Intern Day and today we are highlighting our student intern, Talanda Pritchett. Talanda graduated from Old Dominion University this spring with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services along with a Certification in Addiction Prevention and Treatment. Talanda shared some inspirational words on her goals after graduation and how working with GEAR impacted those goals: “My plans are to attend Tidewater Community College and get my Associate's Degree in Nursing as well as passing the NCLEX and becoming a Registered Nurse. Working with this program has opened my eyes to the possibility of wanting to continue to work with kids in the future and with that being said, I aspire to be a Pediatric Nurse. But of course with my Human Services background there is also other things that I can do in that field that works with kids as well and what stuck out the most would be a Social Worker, so I have that option as well.” She was a great leader in our The WAYE after school program from January-June the kids loved her! And she continues to volunteer with us whenever she can. Thank you Talanda!
