Bright Ideas Brewing North Adams

When we’re done brewing beer, we end up with a lot of leftover grain. In addition to donating it to local farms, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to turn some of that into treats for your pooches! 🐶

Both of our dog-friendly locations have a jar of treats at the bar, so when you’re getting a round of pints don't forget about about your doggo!

We just tapped up the newest at the North Adams taproom! Kaylee used our latest IPA Horde Breaker as the base and then conditioned it on pineapple and mango for a seriously delicious fruited NEIPA.

These go quick, so be sure to head to the taproom today to get a taste!

Our refreshing, cold conditioned German ale is available on tap at Westfield, and in 4-packs at Westfield and select stores in Massachusetts.

We’ve got a new IPA on tap at both locations, continuing our nerdy beers named after D&D spells and abilities. 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 is named for the feat that gives you a boost when you feel outnumbered, and we are still testing if there are any similar effects with this beer irl.

Horde Breaker is a New England IPA dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Motueka, two of our favorite New Zealand hops. Soft and dry, we get juicy and zesty citrus flavors along with hints of white grape and berry.

This is a draft-only release, available at both taprooms (but you can only hold it up to the majestic work by .art at North Adams).

Out from the shadows comes a fresh batch of 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝘀...

This full-bodied and naturally carbonated Czech dark lager is smooth and approachable with a mild roast character—notes of raisin, toffee, and pecan round out the palate to a clean nuanced finish.

A new batch of 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 soars back to both taprooms! Our 6% New England IPA has a heavy dry hop of Citra and Strata hops creating juicy flavors of bright citrus and strawberry.

It’s Michelada Day today and we wouldn’t miss the chance to celebrate one of our favorite beer cocktails! This traditional Mexican drink typically uses a lager mixed with lime juice and a delicious assortment of spices and sauces, so for one day only we’ll be offering house-made micheladas using our 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘇𝗮 𝗘𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 as the base.

Brewed with torrefied flaked maize and Oaxacan corn tortillas, Chingon Cerveza Especial is crisp with mild flavors or tortillas, and makes a delicious michelada if we do say so ourselves.

It's , so just a quick shout out to a beer we'll be celebrating with today: 𝗥𝘂𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗹-𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮.

In addition to a serious dose of cacao nibs, this decadent 10% pastry stout was brewed with waffles, banana, maple syrup, vanilla, and milk sugar and then aged in rum barrels. Yeah, we go big for Chocolate Day!

This is available on draft and in bottles at Westfield.

We're closing a little early tomorrow at 4pm so our awesome crew can enjoy the holiday and catch the fireworks. Have a happy 4th everyone!

Hopped entirely with Citra and including a massive amount of Pineapple Dole Whip, this hazy pale ale brings forward aromas of bright lemon and light pineapple juice followed by full citrus flavors that are complimented by the subtle notes from Citra hops. The finish is clean and full of pineapple flavors that immediately invite you to take that next sip.

We've all been waiting so long. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 (𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘁) is finally here! Ross is back in town and he joined Connor as a special guest to help brew this new beer.

So it really doesn't matter if you’re celebrating your best friend moving back to town or enjoying the return of summer or having a blast at : this is the beer for the occasion! Heavily dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Sabro, and Mosaic, this 8.2% New England DIPA is incredibly dank and juicy, loaded with aromas and flavors of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and a touch of resinous pine.

When you need a little break from , most experts recommend stopping by our taproom for a beer! Especially when we've got draft pours and 4-packs of MM25, our special collaboration IPA celebrating the museum's 25th anniversary.

Who here remembers Connor’s Casks? Every Friday from September 2019 to May of 2021 (with a hiatus for the first few months of COVID), Connor would offer up a special cask conditioned beer, pulling unfinished beer off of fermenters and choosing unique blends of ingredients to compliment whichever base he was working with. Ranging from imperial stouts with chocolate, cherry and vanilla; sour ales conditioned on blueberry, lemon zest, and mint; and even a light lager base conditioned on homemade enchilada sauce: the infamous Enchilager.

Well, after this 3+ year pause, we are super excited to announce the return of our cask series with Kaylee’s Casks! Connor has passed the torch (i.e. his bright pink “No Prob Llama” notebook full of notes on each cask that was made) to Kaylee to start her very own cask program. Kaylee, one of our head bartenders and keg-washer extraordinaire, will be working in the brewery each week to create her very own casks.

Currently we’re planning on an every other Friday schedule, with the hope to ramp it up to the pace of every Friday in the future! Her first cask is getting tapped this Friday the 28th at 3:30pm. Kaylee took the base beer of a brand new double IPA, pre dry hop, and conditioned it for a week and a half on locally picked strawberries and rhubarb. We can’t wait to taste the final product!

Leroy Brown returns to the North Adams taproom! This brown ale in our Dog Series is perfectly balanced between mild sweetness and light roasty character, making this a great easy-drinker for the beginning of summer.

We're so ready for the first home game of the 2024 season today! 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗖𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 will be available in cans at every home game, and you can also pickup 4-packs at both of our taprooms to bring to your own home.

We also recommend drinking SteepleCats Lager rather than hitting it with a baseball bat.

We're so happy our bud Ross is back in town, but we're pretty sure he planned his visit just to get 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝘃𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝘀𝗲 on tap. This tart and refreshing gose is brewed with mango and guava, and is one of our favorite signs that summer is back!

We’re so ready to celebrate MASS MoCA! 🥳

In celebration of MASS MoCA’s 25th anniversary, we partnered up to create an exclusive collaboration beer: 𝗠𝗠𝟮𝟱. Dry-hopped with Mosaic and Motueka, this New England IPA bursts with aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, and pine, followed by flavors of ripe mango and grapefruit pith.

We’ll be releasing MM25 today and can’t wait for you to check out these 4-packs! Each can in this special release has its own unique label featuring an artist who has exhibited their work at MASS MoCA over the past twenty-five years.

We’ve loved being a part of this amazing community since we opened in 2016, and we can’t wait to see you all this weekend for the giant birthday party!

A new lager at North Adams? 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗳 𝗜 𝗗𝗼!

Our first time brewing in this style of German Helles Exportbier, Dortmunder If I Do is the perfect balance between the malt profile of a Helles and the hop character of a Pilsner. Naturally carbonated and beautifully golden and clear, this 6.0% lager has a favorable mix of mild, malty sweetness and floral noble hop character, that finishes smooth, crisp, and refreshing.

We’re all getting excited for MASS MoCA's 25th anniversary on the 25th, and we’re stoked to be brewing the collaboration beer to celebrate! 🥳

Our friend George from MM25 stopped by our Westfield spot and met with our brewers, not just to help plan the beer but also get hands-on in the brewing process. We’ll have more details about the beer soon, and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on the 25th!

Our outdoor picnic area at Westfield is all set up for the year and the North Adams patio under the trees is always a beautiful spot to enjoy an outdoor beer with your pooch.

And ask for a dog treat made from our spent brewing ingredients. Trust us, they like those way more than beer.

What’s this? A new beer without a name? 🧐 It could be a̶n̶y̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ NE Thing...

Our NE Thing experimental series has been our way to try out new techniques or play with new ingredients, basically testing out different New England IPAs before they officially join the Bright beer canon. This is our 22nd experiment and, after following our complex naming system, we are ready to tap up 𝗡𝗘 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗣𝗔 #𝟮𝟮 today!

Dry hopped with two of our favorite hops, Motueka and Mosaic, we changed up some of our brewing process, included extra hop additions, and rocked out a different dry hop schedule. We’re happy to say we love how this experiment came out!

On the nose, we immediately get dank tropical hop aromas mixed with citrus and pine that follow nicely with mildly sweet flavors of mango and grapefruit pith. Clocking in at an agreeable 6.2%, this soft NEIPA is easy-drinking and perfect for these beautiful warm days we’ve been having lately.

NE Thing 22 is now on tap at North Adams, and we recommend enjoying a pint on our outdoor patio.
