I love wearing knotless braids, but the take down is ghetto.. Do you enjoy the take down process? Would you pay someone to remove them for you? Let me know!

If possible, cut your braids about an inch below your real hair. Majority of my hair is waist length so I usually cut at my waist and then cut higher as I figure out where my real hair ends. I’ve made the mistake of underestimating the length of my hair and accidentally cutting it off 😩😩 I won’t be making that mistake again.

1. I like using a comb to make the take down process faster

2. Once the braid is out. I use conditioner and water to help loosen any shedded hair, lint or build up

3. I use a comb to detangle

4. After detangling, I twist the section and move on to the next braid.

5. Repeat and repeat and REPEAT 😩

I’ll be putting braids back in, in a few days lol. They are low maintenance protective style, easy to style and gives me a break from my natural hair.

Never let anyone cut your braids out !!

Fun Fact: In High School I let two of my “friends” help me take my braids down and I’ve always had a head full of hair, like middle of my back, length check during class because it would get stuck behind me in those plastic desk chairs type hair. One day I needed help taking some braids out because who wouldn’t want help 🤷🏾‍♀️. I figured it would take me all weekend to take them out solo. Fast forward to the braids being out and both of them quickly leaving afterwards to me looking in the mirror wondering where my hair went. 🤦🏾‍♀️

2- Dip hair in water
3- Allow to dry just enough to see difference in texture.
4- Trim away damaged hair
