Westminster Pre-School

Despite the rainy weather during our “Sun Fun Park Day,” our families made the most of this wet day by having lots of social time, splashing in puddles, getting faces painted, and eating delicious sno-cones!!! The best part was the surprise visit by the NMB Police Department!!!! The siren parade was totally awesome and the kids enjoyed receiving stickers from the officers!! A big thank you to them for taking the time to make this day memorable! Also, we would like to thank Violet’s dad, Nick, for all the help with the pizzas! It was very much appreciated! Families, thank you all again, for braving the rain and being the “sunshine” on a cloudy day!!!🌦️☔️🌈

What a fabulous time we had at Main Sweets Ice-cream and Candy shop this evening for our Spring Family Night Out Fundraiser, despite the sudden rain storm! From the best candy and ice-cream/slushies in NMB, along with the most unique toys, Main Sweets had so much to offer for everyone in the family! A huge THANK YOU to Simon and Bryanna Dadush for their very generous donation of $700 to our school!!! We can’t thank them enough!!! We appreciate each family who came out to support us for this awesome event this evening!! 🍦🍧🍭

Muffins for Misses was a huge success!! Thank you to all the special ladies who came out to spend time with their little one on Thursday! We appreciate their love and support! Very thankful for the women who God has placed in our lives! 🌸🌷💓

So very thankful to have the NMB K-9 unit come out and do a demonstration with the kids!!! It was fantastic and they loved getting a chance to pet Jolene and Max!!!!! They are such amazing dogs and their handlers (Officer Wilkinson and Officer Keister)are pretty awesome too! It’s one of our favorite events every year!! We appreciate their support of WPS!!! 🐾👮‍♂️

A big thank you to the NMB Police Department for their help with our emergency drill last week! We always appreciate their support!!! We had a great week of learning as we head into the final weeks of the school year! From assessments, to our Bible stories, to outside fun, the kids were busy bees!!!!🐝🐝

Quiet Saturday…But Sunday’s a Coming!!!! We had a wonderful time celebrating Resurrection Day and all things Easter this past week! No rain could stop us from having fun! From egg hunts, to games, to parties, and most importantly, learning all about Jesus’ death and resurrection from the grave, WPS had a busy week!

What a GREAT turnout for WPS’ Chic-Fil-A Spirit Night!!! Thank you to all who dined in or went through the drive through!! Your support means so much!! It was so good to see everyone and socialize outside of the school building! We should have totals by tomorrow!!

This past week, we learned ALL about Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week, and why that is important for us as Christians. We also celebrated our 100th day of school!!! My how these children have grown since September!! Check out all the neat activities our kids did with 100!!!!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from WPS!! We learned so much this week about the Trinity, shamrocks, St. Patrick himself, and had lots of fun celebrating in green!!! We also had another practice Tornado drill and even got a chance to see the cross being placed back up on the steeple!! What a busy and fun week!!☘️☘️⛪️

The LAST day of our Read Across America week was dress as your favorite storybook character!!! The kids/parents did such a fantastic job of coming up with costume ideas!! We also had 2 surprise visitors today! Daisy Head Mayzie and Sully from the NMB Humane Society! The kids enjoyed their time petting and loving on Sully! Also, a big thank you to former WPS student, Greyson, who came to read to the 4 year old class and tell them all about elementary school, now that he’s in 1st grade.
What a WONDERFUL week it has been!!!!!!

Day 3 of Read Across America week—Wacky Wednesday!! We also had a surprise visit by Fox in Socks!!! A huge thank you to Officer Chris and Officer Howard of the NMB Police Department, Melissa Wober of Coastal Carolina National Bank, and Mary Gail Stanaland from the church office for coming to read!!!! The kids enjoyed all the books and asked lots of great questions!!!

Day 2 of Read Across America week was Twin Day/Dress like your teacher! We had so much fun with this one!! From multiple versions of Miss Mary K by the teachers, to a visit by The Cat in the Hat, to lots of student-teacher and BFF Twinsies!!!! A big thanks to our readers, Laurin Seddinger and Lanie Stone, seniors at NMBH, who came out to read to our classes!

Having fun while learning our letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and the Bible through hands-on experiences and experiments!!!!!!

WPS students have had a busy January learning a multitude of things!!!!!! Check out all these very CREATIVE lessons our teachers are implementing for their Winter unit! ❄️☃️
From ice fishing to review letters/numbers learned, to zoning in on fine motor skills/the “winter”color blue with fingerpainting, to being introduced to rhyme/starting to memorize nursery rhymes, to listening to stories about snowmen and penguins/along with making cute crafts to accompany these lessons, our kids are always having fun while learning!!! There is no doubt, our teachers put in the work and it shows!!!!👩‍🏫🍎

Who doesn’t ❤️ cozy jammies, popcorn, cookies, and a good Christmas movie??? Our kids sure enjoyed our last school day of 2023!!! 🎄🎄

Catching up on all things Christmas!!! We celebrated our Savior with fun-filled Happy Birthday Jesus parties!!

Santa Shopping at WPS—one of our favorite activities we do!! Teaching kids the importance of giving to others, AND most importantly, the meaning behind giving gifts at Christmas! The kids were so excited and proud to pick out special gifts for everyone on their list! A huge thank you to our parent volunteers who helped!!!! We couldn’t have done it without you!!!!!🎁🎄⭐️

What a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving Celebration we had at WPS! From learning all about the Pilgrims and Native Americans, to turkeys and songs, and most importantly, to learning Thanksgiving is all about Giving God Thanks for the many blessings we have!!! We are so very thankful for our families coming out and enjoying this special time with all of us!!

ORANGE Day Fun!!! Learning about shining our light for Jesus, painting pumpkins, and seeing what’s inside a real pumpkin!!!!

Fall Fun Day 2023 was a huge SUCCESS!!! A big Thank you to Robert Slate and 5 Star Farms for coming out and bringing all the entertainment!!! This is most definitely our Favorote event of the year!!!!🐴🐑🚂

This week, our preschoolers learned all about fire safety and met some of the NMB firefighters and Sparky!!!!! How cool to meet our hometown heroes!! A big thank you to fire marshal Andrew West and his team!!!! On Wednesday, we all wore pink for cancer awareness!! Don’t these children look great sporting all the many shades of pink!!💕💕

We’ve had a BUSY last 2 weeks of learning!!! From working on letters, to pumpkins and apples, fire safety and fire drills, to practicing our fine motor skills, our students are soaking it all in! What wonderful lessons our teachers create to motivate and inspire our kids!!!!🌟🌟

A HUGE shoutout to Boardwalk Billy’s Raw Bar & Grill for hosting our Fall Family Fundraiser!!! Thank you ALL for attending and helping make this night great!!! The food and service were amazing, the weather was perfect, and the kids had a blast!!! So fun getting to socialize with everyone outside the walls of the school! We appreciate their VERY GENEROUS donation to help support the various special events we have throughout the year!! It’s wonderful to know that we live in an area where businesses like Boardwalk Billy’s, give back to their community and support our children!!! Thank you again!!!
