Finally got a chance to get Abby out to hunt for a bit and she made it happen. This is a beautiful bird that’s slipped us for a few years.
Proud of this girls accomplishments. Dancer, cheerleader, singer, band, athlete, and still likes to throw the camo on and spend time in the field with me.

Great time this weekend with Bill and Patrick from Florida. Came in Friday evening with just enough time to get a quick hunt in. Within 5 minutes of setting up we had a big Tom fired up and coming in. The TriStar Arms .410 laid him m out. Within 45 minutes of getting to town Bill had scored.
Saturday morning setup found us a little closer than we’d anticipated and were close to 60 yards from the roost. Yikes! Quick set and waited for sun up. Typical fashion the birds went out the opposite way so we went mobile and got ahead of them where Patrick sealed the deal on a beautiful Nebraska Tom. Great times sharing the thrill of the hunt we love with others across the country.

Had a great opening day hunt with some great friends.
Dominate Tom took 9 hens away from us off the roost so we packed up and went mobile.
When it happens it happens fast!

We wrapped up another great week of Nebraska deer hunts. Yes it was warm, yes it was tough, and yes we kept hammering and finding opportunities to make it happen. Passed on a good number of bucks that will be great next year.

Always fun having new folks come into camp and building a relationship where you consider them friends.

So thankful for all of our friends that trust in us to come hunt year over year.

Had an opportunity to hunt with Kurt last weekend. Wasn’t just a hunt. We’ve been talking for close to 5 years to get him out and share a hunt together. It all finally came together where Kurt, his dad Kerry, and brother Brandon were able to build memories together.

Big changes to the Nebraska turkey season. It’s critical to the future of our Turkey population. We will see what the final outcome is but it seems like a step in the right direction.

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission staff released new turkey hunting recommendations for the Commission to consider at their August 31 meeting at Fort Robinson State Park.

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞:
• Resident: unlimited permits, personal limit of two (2) permits
• Nonresident: 10,000 permit limitation, personal limit of one (1) permit
• Daily Bag Limit: A hunter may harvest no more than one (1) turkey per calendar day

I’m blessed to share the outdoors with a lot of amazing people. There’s a lot of memories and friendships that have come out of those that I will always cherish.
But there is nothing that compares to being able to see the excitement on your kids faces when they experience the excitement of harvesting their first turkey. Hunter has had some down moments the last couple years with a few misses and birds not cooperating. I’m so proud as his dad to see the drive and excitement to not give up.

Reaping Merriam's in Nebraska - Big Gobbler at close range with only a turkey fan and a 20 gauge! Ross Mellinger and Nathan Taylor team up to chase Merriam's turkeys in Nebraska in pursuit of their grand slams!

That’s a wrap on another great Nebraska deer season. We battled 40mph winds for 4 days, 71 degrees one day and lows around 12 on others, not to mention a full moon. The guys shot 4 nice mule deer despite the weather and nothing moving in that wind. We had a great time, made new friends and made more memories with longtime friends. Blessed to be able to share these experiences and our slice of Nebraska with everyone. Our unguided whitetail hunters didn’t waste any time making it happen either on some great bucks! Nomad Outdoor

It’s so great to be back in the field and behind the glass and out hunting. Yesterday was about reconnecting with the outdoors and leaning on those skills that I’ve honed in over the years. It often turns into a game of cat and mouse with these kings of the prairie. You work hard to get in position for a shot but often back out because you want to find another and try it again. I’m very happy with the antelope I took but am always sad that the pursuit is over.
