Increase the lifespan of your HVAC system with proper attic insulation. Insulation keeps conditioned air in your home instead of it leaving out through the roof. Having enough insulation extends the life of your HVAC system because it doesn't have to work as hard.

Blown fiberglass comes in three common colors: white, pink or yellow and the colors simply identify the manufacturer. Blown-in fiberglass insulation in attics typically has an R-value of 2.5 per inch. The density of the blown-in fiberglass determines the R-value just like it does for a batt.

An attic door insulation cover isn't on every homeowner's list of priorities. But if you have an attic door, it should be, because you're wasting money without one. An uninsulated attic door is like no door at all, allowing conditioned air to pass freely from the living area up and out through the roof vents.

How do you know if you need to add more attic insulation? A simple test is to look in your attic. If you can see the top of the ceiling joists, then you need more insulation.

✅Benefits Of Blown In Insulation

✅Blown-in insulation is a superior choice for attics for several reasons:

✅It reaches all the nooks and crannies of your attic, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

✅It can be added to precise levels, eliminating the risk of settling over time.

✅Blown-in insulation also provides additional noise-dampening qualities.

✅It acts as a second v***r barrier, preventing water infiltration, mold, and mildew.

Blown Fiberglass or Cellulose?

Fiberglass insulation's tightly spun fibers make it far less dusty than cellulose, making it cleaner and safer for your family and pets. Fiberglass is fire retardant and will not attract insects or rodents the same as cellulose being that cellulose is made from recycled paper products. Fiberglass insulation allows for less air infiltration, and settles less making it a great product for the lifetime of the home.

Removal of old insulation prior to installing new insulation is the biggest question that we are asked and the answer is NO!
Contaminated insulation from pests, water, smoke, mold, or moisture are the only reasons removal is necessary. Blowing over the preexisting insulation to increase your R-value will save you tons on the install cost!

Insulation is measured by an R-value – the higher the R-value, the greater the insulating capacity of the material. Colder temperatures require higher R-value insulation to ensure that less heat is lost through the roof of your home. In addition, insulation will also help keep the cool air inside during the warm weather.

Hot air rises, just like your energy bill will do if your attic is poorly insulated. A poorly insulated attic can result in 25% heat loss in fall and winter—that's 25 percent of your average heating costs going toward energy that won't even heat your home.

The difference between spray foam insulation and blown-in fiberglass insulation lies in their materials. Spray foam is a liquid chemical, while fiberglass is made from 20% to 30% recycled glass. Because spray foam releases environmental toxins, fiberglass is definitely the greener choice. Fiberglass also lasts at least 20 years longer, and does not shrink or degrade over time.
