At Gentl Med Spa, we emphasis on natural looking results. Our injector, Daleigh, helps our clients reach their aesthetic goals while maintaining their natural beauty.

This client came into our spa wanting a lip augmentation. As you can see, the client has a small upper lip that is shaped like a “M”. To enhance this while keeping a natural appearance, we used 0.5 mL (half a syringe) of restylane Kysse.

It’s important to understand that filler adds volume. Smaller lips = less surface area. Therefore, they cannot always handle large amounts of volume at once without looking “unnatural” or like “duck lips”.

In 4-6 months, this client will return for an additional 0.5 mL. Eventually, we will reach this client’s goal and it will look natural 🙌🏼

What’s the difference between a lip flip and lip filler?🤔 And why does lip filler cost almost 7 times as much as a lip flip? Glad you asked! A “lip flip” is usually 4-10 units of neurotoxin injected into the areas around the lips, it relaxes the muscles around the lips, but doesn’t actually affect the appearance of the lips themselves. It gives the illusion of fuller lips because the muscles around them are less tense. Lip filler on the other hand is a direct injection of dermal filler (Hyauluronic acid) into the tissue of the lips. This changes the composition and structure of the lips themselves, making them look more full and voluminous. Lip filler is a much more expensive product to buy while a lip flip uses neurotoxin which is less expensive on a per unit basis. Lip fillers also last much longer and usually have a greater and more noticeable effect. ✨ the more that you know, the better you can make a decision that aligns with your own personal aesthetic needs and budget 💋
