Kyrah Ayers
I'm a husband, father, marathon runner, business owner, and writer. I'm a husband and a father. Everything else comes secondary. In my spare time I run A LOT!
I'm a person that just loves to write and encourage others to do the same. I started writing in 1991 and began sharing my work through music and poetry by 1995. I'm the founder of Poetry By The Bay: a Spoken Word Open-mic event in Vallejo, CA that takes place every 2nd & 4th Thursdays. www.PoetryByTheBay.com
I'm also a contracted event host. I wear a few more hats, but just about all of them fit
Thank you for your service to all the kind humans who helped me and so many others over the past few days. Your commitment and dedication to health care is worthy of many applause 👏🏾
Happy New Year everyone. 🥂
I’m excited to announce that a new blogpost has been released.
It’s called “The Joy of it All” and discusses some of the challenges that this year brought as well as one that is coming in the near future.
I hope you read it with the same optimism in which I wrote it. Looking forward to us all having an amazing 2024.

The Joy Of It All — Actively Pursuing Goals A couple months ago I was diagnosed with cancer. As I approach my 2nd surgery, I’m finding peace in the journey.
Me & the Mrs…melanated and optimistically elevated.
I’ve been searching for the right words to write about this. Around the end of last month I fell ill and ended up in the ER with what I believed to be a flu virus. My wife Lilly Renee Ayers rightfully suggested that this prompted a visit to the ER.
Despite the fact that I loathe hospitals, I grudgingly agreed. Hours later, I was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and scheduled for surgery the next morning.
Four days later I was released from the hospital alive and well. To this day, I’m still not 100% but I’m getting there and without my wife’s intuition I may not even be here.
I’ve lived my whole life in gratitude but I’m even more thankful for this experience of vulnerability that taught me many lessons about myself and how to accept the reality in front of me while grateful for those around me aiding me in seeing the future.
December marathon is off the table. If anyone wants to run California International Marathon let me know. I have a bib for you.
I’ve started back running…slowly. Be sure to subscribe to the blogs for the full story of this journey. https://www.activelypursuinggoals.com/blogs
Thank you to my wife for saving my life.
Fellas, listen, sometimes what doesn’t make sense, is exactly what we need to do.
Cheers 🥂 to good health for all.
