Food brings us together, especially during this holiday season. As we gather with our loved ones, let’s make sure everyone has the opportunity to come together at the table. The need in Orange County is approaching levels we haven't seen since COVID-19. Just last month, we served 477,000 individuals – which is among the highest levels since 2020. Donations are down and the cost of food is up. There is still time to make an impact and receive a tax benefit for 2023. To give today, visit feedoc.org/donate #WeFeedOC

As families and friends come together to share meals and celebrate this holiday season, help us provide nutritious food to our neighbors in Orange County. We don’t “celebrate” that there has been a need for the Food Bank for 40 years, but we do celebrate the people who have made our work possible, the milestones that we have achieved and the impact that Second Harvest has had on the Orange County community for four decades. To commemorate our 40th year of service and to reflect on the hope and dignity Second Harvest has been providing for 40 years, we’ve produced a mini documentary: 'Nourishing Hope: The Story of a Food Bank'. Our Distribution Center coolers are currently full of boxes and boxes of gorgeous walnuts! Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fats and work to improve brain health. These particular walnuts came to the Food Bank via The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). TEFAP is a federal USDA food program that helps to supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with food assistance at no cost, and it is an important program that allows Second Harvest to source nutritious food for our community. Together, #WeFeedOC.
