There are two teachers currently teaching with Sun Moon Yogis, Ajay Mani Raj and Annie Liebman. Through yoga and meditation he has found transformational benefits for his mind, body and energy. His life is dedicated to helping people reach their highest potential. Annie grew up in Oakland, California. She has spent over 6 years in India exploring the ancient culture and deepening her yoga and meditation practice. Her passion is to share it with others.

We took a hiatus from the Facebook/Instagram world for a while but we are back!
A brief update: We were in India for about 3 months with Ajay’s family. It was a whirlwind of a time packed with family.
We are back in Oakland now and continuing to teach yoga and meditation!

Angamardana, a fitness system rooted in yoga, offers everyone the opportunity to invigorate the body and reach peak physical and mental health. “Angamardana” means gaining complete mastery over the limbs, organs, and other parts of the body. True to its name, this practice revitalizes the body on all levels including the muscles, circulatory system, skeletal structure, nervous system, and the basic energy system.

This man is 77 years old and practicing Surya Kriya. Today he came for a review session. I was inspired by his motivation to learn this practice.
It just goes to show it is NEVER too late to learn yoga. I’ve heard so many people say “I can’t do yoga! I’m not flexible!” The amazing part of classical Hatha yoga and meditation is that even if you aren’t flexible at all, as long as you do the postures correctly you will still get the benefits.
And guess what, it’s not just your body that will become flexible, but your mind will as well. And that, my friend, is bliss. ❤️
Last week I had an amazing Yogasanas class with Brandon, He has been an Isha Meditator for a few years now. He reached out to me about a year ago because he had an injury in his leg (which also has affected his spine). Rather then healing with surgery, he has been patient with himself and used natural methods.
This is his experience of learning Yogasanas in his words:
“I had been wanting to learn Yogasanas for many years now and I’m glad I found Annie to learn from. I loved being surrounded by the birds and the trees while I learned the practice. I noticed a difference right away in myself on the first day of learning - I am more open to experiences and my body was able to relax more then I have in years! I will definitely be continuing this practice.”

Rajajeshwari reached out to Sun and Moon Yogis a few months ago. She is a yoga teacher and founder of Deafhood Yoga , where she teaches the deaf community.
She is drawn to Sadhguru and his teachings, however, they are not widely accessible to the deaf community. We hope the Isha Foundation can make these practices more accessible.
We are grateful for her patience with us in figuring out how to communicate. We are blessed to have her as our student.

Truth be told: I’m not equally flexible on my right and left side as you can see from these two pictures.
When joining yoga class I’ve heard a lot of people say, “I’ve never done yoga before” and “I’m not flexible - can I still do these practices?”
But actually very few people are naturally flexible. Stretching the body is basically stretching muscle which just takes time.
And you will still get the benefits of yoga without flexibility. There are still days when I can’t touch my toes (and I’ve been practicing for 5 years!). 🤫

"I connected with Annie through the Isha website in April 2021. I was a bit hesitant about learning the practices when I got in touch with her but she was able and willing to communicate more about them that I ended up learning it with her shortly after we got in touch. She was very flexible with her schedule and very patient when teaching. On top of that she was available to answer questions about what I learned upon completing the course. Did you know that in addition to Yoga and Meditation practices, we also teach classes related to food?
Sadhguru has given so much guidance related to how to approach food.
We go over everything from specific foods to incorporate into your diet, how to chew, positive pranic and negative pranic foods, and the best way to consume water.
Our approach to food is completely different now, compared to what it once was before the training. Our digestion is also much better!

We offer a variety of classes for children. Next month, in September we will be having in-person sessions. We teach children 7 and above. We generally meet after school for an hour each week.
These pictures are from last year. We taught them Upa Yoga and Surya Shakti. We also go over various aspects related to the yogic lifestyle like food habits, environment, and how to remain peaceful and joyful. ☺️
Sadhguru has an ashram in Coimbatore, India as well as In Tennessee. They are both amazing places to spend some time in consecrated spaces, learn new practices and be with other spiritual seekers. You can also volunteer there.
My time in both ashrams has been amazing. Last year I spent time volunteering in Tennessee for a couple months. I absolutely loved living there. it felt amazing living in a community devoted to knowing the nature of life.
