Apply by March 31st. 🏈 💸 The 2022 Dr. Harry Edwards Follow Your Bliss Awards is a 49ers grant program honoring some of the best educators in the local community. The award honors educators across the San Francisco Bay Area who lead the future generation with purpose, passion, dedication and love. The recipients of this award receive a $5,000 stipend for in-classroom materials and resources for the next academic year, mentor ship of the recipients and his or her fellow teachers led by Dr. Edwards, and formal recognition at a Levi's® Stadium event with family and colleagues.

Our first ever STEAM night was a great success! Cohort 16 students cut, mixed, designed, measured, computed, drew, theorized, and reflected. They came away with great ideas for integrating art into math and science in their future classrooms. Workshop leaders Judy Gilson, Debby Roosevelt, Kate Philpott, Aaron Moorhead, and Ned Diamond led the five engaging stations. Thanks to SF Day for hosting this dynamic class!

Summer school is especially important for at-risk students. BATTI is doing its part- Cohort 15 students are making a difference! -A dozen students are paid middle school teachers at Aim High and the Partners program -4 students are volunteering at the Berkeley Bears program -4 students taught in Dakar, Senegal -7 students are working at Hoover Elementary in OUSD's summer program -2 students are working at SF Friends School Horizons program -6 students are volunteering at Argonne School, SF USD's only year-round school

Oakland Teacher Credential Program Fair
BATTI made the news last night! Check out this clip from KTVU News coverage of the Oakland Teacher Credential Fair. The Oakland School District, Charter Schools, and the Mayor's Office are joining together to address the teacher shortage. BATTI is proud to join this effort. We are working with the school district and foundations to place resident teachers in the Oakland schools.
