Yesterday morning, we were heartbroken by the news of Mr. John Gibb's passing.
Mr. Gibb was a high school teacher at Lake Weir High School, where he taught for seven years. He was also a volunteer mentor within our Take Stock in Children program. And over the past year, our Foundation built a closer relationship with Mr. Gibb when he was recognized as a 2023 Golden Apple Teacher.
In his *speech at our recent Golden Apple Gala, we heard him speak these words, “Whatever you do in life, make sure it is meaningful, and purposeful.” Mr. Gibb's teaching style and love for his students was meaningful, purposeful, and truly changed lives.
Mr. Gibb's presence will be severely missed in his classroom, district, and community. We at the Foundation offer condolences to his students, coworkers, family members, and friends during this time.
