When we fill up a child’s cup with attention and love, we are filling up their emotional needs. And a full emotional cup helps to build up a child’s self-esteem!
When a child’s cup is empty, this can lead to intense feelings of sadness, frustration, anxiety, and more. They may act out, isolate, or engage in “attention-seeking” behaviors. They are really connection-seeking.
