Our instructors Kayla and Marla attended the Mega Grooming Show USA and had the opportunity to meet celebrity groomers and continue their education. This was the first ever show in our country. Continuing education is extremely important! It doesn’t matter how much knowledge and skill that a person has in this industry, there’s always something more to learn.

👏 Congrats to students Sara & Sabrina for completing their FIRST ever breed standard haircut today! We are very proud of them and can’t wait to see what they’ll accomplish in their program. Great job you two! 🐕🐕🐕💖

A big thanks to our friends at Woof Gang Academy of Grooming for graciously donating these tickets to Seminole County Animal Services! All proceeds raised will go towards the direct care of animals in residence at the shelter.

MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS!
AMANDA
Amanda has been grooming for 22 years now. She started out as a bather for PetSmart where she trained to become a groomer. While working for PetSmart, she managed the grooming salon for 6 years. She has also worked in a few local grooming salons in Clermont and she currently has her very own business. On top of being an instructor and a groomer; she does dog sitting, and dog walking. She has slowed down quite a bit on grooming and focusing more on teaching. She really enjoys teaching our students and watching their success. When she’s not at the school or working from home, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. 🐕🐕🐕💖

MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS!
KAYLA
Kayla started her grooming journey as a bather in early 2007. She volunteered at an animal shelter bathing and taking care of the dogs and cats until they found their forever home. When she graduated high school in 2009 she started out as a professional bather for Petsmart, where she quickly learned that grooming was her passion! She enjoyed watching the other groomers creating beautiful art on their canvas ( the dogs ) and being proud of the grooms they sent out. She wanted that! She looked for someone who was willing to mentor her, so she found a show groomer that did just that, and has been grooming ever since. On her journey, she also became a Certified Professional Groomer in 2013 and has a history of helping mentor groomers herself and managing salons! After a little over 16 years, she still enjoys grooming as much as she did from day one, but her heart is now set on teaching the trade to future groomers! One of her favorite things about teaching is watching a student experience the same passion that she did years ago and watching them grow and learn.

MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS!
Marla, has been in the industry for a little over 20 years. She has worked at four Woof Gang Bakery’s and ran her own mobile business, The SPAw Groom, for 9 years. Grooming is her passion and she believes in a natural and holistic approach to your BFF’s (best furry friend) coat and skin care. She is also passionate about teaching that to new and upcoming groomers. Marla loves grooming all breeds of dogs, but her favorite is a breed standard groom on the West Highland Terrier.
Marla has a degree in education from Western Connecticut State University and is thrilled to be able to use that degree and her knowledge and experience in the grooming industry, to be educating the next generation of groomers.

Congratulations to Juliana who just graduated the 300 hour Pro Groomer program! You had the groomers eye from the very beginning and we are so proud of you! We will miss you! 🐕🐕🐕💖

Sweet little Orea is feeling super refreshed after her groom with Kristin! This student did a fantastic job and it was her first time grooming a dog start to finish. We can’t wait to see all that she will accomplish in the 300 hour program. Way to go Kristin! 🐶🐕🐩

Student Jordan completed her first long -legged terrier groom on an Airedale Terrier today! The groom turned out amazing and Mozzie was a very good boy. Fun Fact- The Airedale is the tallest of the terriers! 😃

Today, students Jake and Manny got hands on experience grooming a paralyzed senior dog. They were taught how to gently and properly handle this pup during the grooming process, so that Duke could be as comfortable as possible. Duke received what we call a comfort groom today where we don’t aim for perfection, our main concern is that Duke was groomed safely, he was comfortable and left happy. Great job you two!
