We know the fireworks can be stressful for some dogs. Here are some tips to help you help them.
1. Give them lots of exercise today, the more tired they are they easier they will relax.
2. Provide them a safe place to hide if it's just too overwhelming.
3. Use white noise or music to help drown out the fireworks.
4. Distract with high value treats and a training session that shifts their focus. Or use long lasting treats like a bully stick or a frozen kong.
5. Make sure your gates are closed and fences are secure. If you dog is fearful of the fireworks it's best to keep them inside and supervised when they need to go out. The local shelters will receive a a larger number of dogs tonight because they were frightened and escaped.
