Happy Heavenly Birthday, John Prine!
Today, we celebrate the incredible life of John Prine, a true legend of Country music! With a career spanning over five decades, Prine was known for his poignant storytelling and unique blend of folk, country, and rock. His self-titled debut album, released in 1971, included classics like "Angel from Montgomery" and "Hello in There," which have touched the hearts of many.
John's music has influenced countless artists, from Bonnie Raitt to Jason Isbell, and he has received numerous accolades, including two Grammy Awards and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. His songs captured the essence of everyday life and the human experience, earning him a spot in the hearts of fans worldwide.
Though he left us in 2020, his spirit and songs continue to resonate. Here's to you, John! Your voice may be gone, but your legacy lives on through every note and lyric. Keep strumming that guitar up in the sky!
That’s the way it oughta be! When I’m gone, don’t shed a tear, just let the music do the talking. Drop a quarter in that jukebox and let Merle or Willie carry you back to simpler times. Country music’s always been about telling life’s stories, and there’s no better way to honor that than keeping those timeless tunes spinning.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to the legendary Chris LeDoux!
A true cowboy at heart, Chris LeDoux was not only an incredible country singer but also a champion rodeo rider. With over 35 albums and more than six million records sold, LeDoux carved out a unique space in country music, blending traditional sounds with the raw spirit of the rodeo. His hit "Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy" became a country anthem, and his influence still echoes today. Remembering his energy, talent, and grit, we celebrate the life and legacy of this cowboy icon. Who remembers this famous cowboy? My friend Debbie and I knew him personally.
Three-time world saddle bronc riding champion Monty “Hawkeye” Henson became one of the most colorful and personable cowboys on the circuit and a master of the flying dismount. Born Oct. 22, 1953, in Farmersville, Texas, Henson grew up around Pete and Don Gay with his first association with rodeo in Mesquite, Texas. His style and ability have been compared to those of the legendary Casey Tibbs. He qualified for the National Finals Rodeo 14 times. Henson was quoted as saying, “I’m a cowboy. That’s the best thing anybody could say about me. If I could have that on my tombstone – Here lies Hawkeye, a cowboy – then I can die a happy man.”
