OSPOA Annual Conference

Highlights of this year’s conference include:
Dedicated Exhibit Hall time on August 29th.
20 total hours of CLEET credit, with 2 hours of mental health.
Specific sessions for private security.
Networking opportunities to meet law enforcement personnel from around the state.
Awards Banquet honoring those who have went above and beyond.

The hotel will hold a $50 a night incidental that will be released at check out if no damages are done to the hotel room.
Registration Fees:
Full Registration: $220/member or $320/non-members, which includes an exhibit hall ticket, a $30 meal voucher (for lunches at the food court), a banquet ticket and hot breakfast at the Prayer Service.
Daily Registration: $60, which includes access to the training sessions and lunch. The Thursday ticket also includes access to the exhibit hall. The Friday ticket includes a ticket to the Prayer Service. (Please note, only attendees registered for the entire conference will be eligible to win prizes.)
Fi****ms Qualifications: $25/member or $50/non-members, which will be held Thursday Morning at Shawnee Police Department’s Range.
Additional Banquet Tickets: $60
Additional Prayer Breakfast Tickets: $35

Prayers for Oklahoma City Police Department and the officers family and friends.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Officer Greyson Fox. Officer Fox tragically drowned July 1st while off-duty at Lake Stanley Draper.
Officer Fox started the police academy on August 8, 2023, and had recently been assigned to the Hefner Division. In his short time with us, he demonstrated remarkable dedication, commitment, and a genuine passion for serving our community.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Officer Fox's family, friends, and fellow officers during this incredibly difficult time. His loss is profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Officer Fox will be deeply missed, along with his spirit of service and dedication to the Oklahoma City community.

Oklahoma City Police are mourning the sudden and unexpected weekend death of Sgt. Michael Neely from the Motorcycle Unit. Neely was off duty at the time. He served the citizens of Oklahoma City for 16 years. Neely was recognized as Officer of the Year in 2019 for his dedication and compassion 💔
Our annual conference is approaching. Staff has been working hard to bring a great conference this year. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Del City Police Department and the family.
Today our department suffered a tragic loss. Lt. Matt Henry, a 17 year veteran of the department, passed away unexpectedly due to a medical issue. Lt Henry was a tenacious and inquisitive officer & investigator and a compassionate shift supervisor, who always cared deeply for the officers he worked with. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lt. Henry’s wife Laura, daughter Natalie, and the rest of the Henry family during this challenging time.
Logan County Sheriff's Office will be hosting a De-Escalation training, October 30th and 31st and November 9th and 10th from 08:30 - 1700. A total of 14 hours of continuing education and 2 mental hours has been approved by CLEET.

Course Description
Course delivers best practices in de-escalation including procedural justice, correct de-escalation language, officer adjustments for varying threat stages and environments, body language, conflict management, recognizing mental health and disability issues, and means to adjust interactions based upon rapid personality identification. Also included are de-escalation and prevention of escalation while maintaining professionalism, respectfulness, and self-control, particularly if insulting or disrespectful language and behavior are present. Numerous participatory scenarios and examples of proper officer behavior and responses..
