CYS Video Holiday Card 2016

Today CYS' Youth in Service AmeriCorps program was honored to have City of Olympia - Government Mayor Cheryl Selby, Bud Blake, Thurston County Commissioner District 3 and Debbie Schuffenhauer & Mary Van Verst from Serve Washington join us for "Day of Recognition for National Service." The purpose of today is to bring local elected officials together with current AmeriCorps volunteers and provide the opportunity for these officials to learn more about how National Service is making an impact in our community. It is our hope that this time we share today will give you all a chance to be inspired by the dedication and hard work of these volunteers and future leaders. Both the mayor and commissioner presented proclamations to the members in honor of their service. Twenty 18-25 year old Youth in Service AmeriCorps members serve in 19 sites (schools and social service agencies) in Thurston County.
