Having been in the beauty industry as a lash artist I (Nelly) started to view life a bit differently with the years. I learned that as women we look to enhance our outer beauty, but forget that how we feel on the inside can determine how beautiful we are on the outside.
What does that mean?
Well, for me personally, if my mind if full of worry, my soul is heavy with fear, doubt or anger, my energy and thoughts are constantly negative - then no matter how much makeup i wear, how pretty my lashes are, how cute my outfit is - I will feel ugly inside. Now here’s the thing…it’s not an aesthetically ugly, it’s an ugly FEELING.
So my goal is to feel beautiful inside!
What are some things that make us feel pretty on the inside? For me, there’s lots of ways…like striving for positive thinking, watching a new leaf unfurl on my plants, walking into my home or studio and feeling that lightness in the room, looking at pictures of my kids when they were little, eating healthier (or at least trying to), connecting with my spirituality, wearing a fresh set of shoes, anything handmade, and jewelry (for me in particular earrings make me feel good more than lipstick). Long list right? But this is just a FEW of the things - not in the beauty industry - that make me feel good on the inside, which then make enhance my inner beauty.
Think about this for a bit. What are some things that make you feel good and enhance your inner beauty? Is it have a super clean or tidy home? Is it a kiss from your babies, is it a certain piece of clothing, is it the morning sunrise, or watching the sun set? What puts a smile on your face? What makes you feel happy?
What enhances your inner beauty? ✨
