Registration is open for our Sourdough 101 class next Tuesday, 11/12! Join Matthew and Anna Claire for a comprehensive look at making sourdough at home, complete with that signature crackly crust and velvety crumb. We'll teach you to make sourdough work around your life, and not the other way around.
You'll learn everything from sourdough starter care to troubleshooting common mixing/shaping/baking problems, all while getting your hands on the dough at each step in the process. Plus, you'll take home our sourdough starter, printed course materials, and gain access to online process videos.

Pickup days will be either Tuesday, Nov. 26 or Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 10am-2pm at the bakery. Be sure to add your desired pickup date to your cart. It's always humbling when we think about the loaves of bread that become part of your dinner table every week. For us to be part of your Thanksgiving table, too, well, that's just an honor for us!

Slight departure this week from our normal Saturday preorders. Instead of ordering on the website, we invite you to call the bakery at 334-744-5174 to pre-order any of the items listed above!
Remember, you can call the bakery any day we're open to pre-order items as well π₯π₯π

There's some city construction happening on 7th Street today that has access to North Railroad Ave blocked off.
Have no fear though, we will still be open as usual!
When you tell folks about us, feel free to refer to us as "that little bread bakery between the building demolition and construction zones" π

We had such a great time teaching the wonderful kids at Emerald Cove Early Learning Center about the bakery!

Yes, now that the temps are cooler and we are firmly in the middle of football season, it's time to bring back one of the best flavor combos around.
Pair it with chili. Make a sandwich. Put cream cheese on it and start your day with a (mild) kick!

*Preordered Almond Croissant Boxes will be available beginning at 10:00AM*

Here's the lineup for this Saturday's pre-order menu. There are a few new seasonal flavors to dig into this week!
Notably a Pecan Frangipane Muffin, a Maple Pecan Loaf Cake with a Bourbon glaze, and a much requested Dark Chocolate and Cranberry Sourdough Loaf!

We had such a wonderful time last Friday during our bread class!
Getting to share our bakery with our community members like this is such a fulfilling experience for us. We get to dive into what goes on in the bakery and shine a light on all the work that is required to make fresh bread and pastry and then translate that to approachable practices you can take home!
This month we've got two classes open for you to join!
October 16th - Sourdough 101 (now open!)
- a comprehensive hands on class aimed to make sourdough baking approachable and give you the knowledge to confidently make bread at home.
October 22nd - Laminated Pastries (only a few spots left!)
- a guided hands-on journey through the creation of croissant dough and puff pastry! Learn all the basics plus some key troubleshooting insights that'll equip you to make these flaky treats at home!
Both classes include printed materials, videos, and sourdough starter.

Hey, Neighbor!
Saturdays lately have been a blast thanks to you all who come out in force to grab fresh baked goodies first thing in the morning as well as those of you who take advantage of our preorder option through our website!
In response to some feedback we've been getting and in an effort to make sure the same value combos are available to both in-store and preorder customers, we've reimagined the weekly preorder menu.
As you can see, we've gone all in on the combos to make sure you're getting the same level of per item discounts that are available in store when you bundle items.
The only trade off is that these are curated assortments, so they come as is. We've reviewed all of the preorders we've received the past few weeks, and we are confident everyone will find something to suit their fancy!
Preorders for this weekend are live and will close on Thursday morning at 10:00AM!*
*With the exception of the Almond Croissant Box, it closes Wednesday at 10:00AM because they require more prep time :)

We've got some quick updates for you about bakery goings-on.
Starting tomorrow we'll have biscuits everyday in the morning for your breakfast needs. For now we can offer plain, with jam, or with pimento cheese!
Also, starting tomorrow we'll have the Smoked Chicken Salad on Croissant for lunch everyday (while supplies last...)
Then starting on Thursday we'll have a new autumnal muffin for you to try! It's Cranberry Orange Walnut! π π

Fall is finally in the air and we have an exciting week ahead of breads and pastries. We're continuing to roll out some autumnal flavors we've been testing including chai and apple.
And who would have guessed that this community loves biscuits so very much? Don't worry, we'll be continuing to make these. Come get a biscuit or a biscuit sandwich with housemade pimento cheese on Saturday only starting at 8am (we'll have them hot and ready for you!).

How many requests have we gotten over the years for biscuits? Too many to count...
This Saturday, we're fulfilling those requests and baking up a couple trays of buttermilk biscuits (insanely fluffy interior, perfect golden brown crust, topped with flaky sea salt).
You can buy them individually ($4) or as a biscuit sandwich with our house made pimento cheese ($7.50).
