Last night I went to several different beaches in search of the bioluminescent waves. Thanks to for the Venice Beach tip. It was still going on for a while as I got there. While standing on the beach I could see shadows of people in the dark, which drew my attention to fog rolling through the lights on the pier. It was oddly silent (at 2am). Took the time to appreciate it.
Last night I went to several different beaches in search of the bioluminescent waves. Thanks to for the Venice Beach tip. It was still going on for a while as I got there. The full moon was cool, but I think it muted down the effect. Nonetheless, it was a great time enjoying a bit of fog on a coolish warm night.
During a recent shoot with , I had the opportunity two loves, photographing food and photographing people. I got to be a fly on the wall as the crew were busily preparing the meats for opening.

I was treated today with a day at the Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach. The first few hours were socked in with fog, leading me to think of Jurassic Park…”you do plan to have planes at this show…right?” We could hear scary jet sounds, but see nothing.
Around 2:30 the clouds were broken up and then the jets put on a show. It was worth the eventual sunburn.
Thanks to for the encouragements.
First real day off in a couple weeks. Taking a break at the Pacific Airshow. If you’re in the area, come say hi. I’m planted between lifeguard towers 1 and 3.
Shalom!
Recently I got to attend a film premiere in LA, at what seemed like an older theater. After the film presentation there was a meet and greet with cast and crew. For some reason the left behind (trash?) items stood out to me. When they’re first received, special care is taken in holding them, but soon they’re forgotten and discarded as nothing. They’re telltale signs of entertainment…but now boring.
Coffee is one of those things you can taste in a photo
Head to for Gulab jamun cheesecake and a cardamom tea
Coke flavored Oreos…?
Drink responsibly, not sloppy.
Photo fun with soda. I loved the colors and artwork on the can. The drink also tastes really good.
Having some fun with coffee from in Orange
Going for a random drive in Orange, I came across a 9/11 memorial ceremony about to begin. Joining in, it was interesting to see various organizations from the city come together. The Elks Lodge, Veterans, Fire, and PD, they were all present. The difficult but poetic part for me was listening to the personal story (shared presently by his aunt Janet) of NY fireman on 9/11. He told of being in NY during the attacks and then heading directly to where the towers stood. He shared of seeing 21 floors compacted onto one another and seeing any signs of offices turned into dust. He was directed to search for any possible survivors, as well as trying to ID anyone found, which he and many on and off-duty firemen took to doing, with little to no sleep over many weeks and months. Over the years since, he and others developed cancerous tumors from being at ground zero for so long. Recently, during a checkup, it was found that the tumors had miraculously disappeared. A long moment of silence capped off a beautiful pause to remember what happened 23 years ago, and perhaps what has gone on since in many places around the world to this day. May we as a country and a people unify to remember the need to pursue life and peace. It’s possible. Shalom!
