Logan Honikel wins the Gold Glove for the 2023 Varsity Vanguards. The freshman shortstop made things look easy while comitting only 3 errors all season long.

Congratulations to Drew Rodriguez on earning the team Silver Slugger Award as the top offensive player. Drew was 2nd team All Crestview League. He led the team in doubles and was 2nd in average. He will be attending Bethel College in Kansas on a basketball scholarship.

Senior Alex Mascaro is our team 2023 Cy Young Award Winner. Alex led our staff in innings pitched and strikeouts. He will be attending Cypress College next year and play for the Chargers.

Congratulations to all of our varsity scholar athletes. 19 of our players have earned a 3.5 or greater cumulative GPA in the classroom at El Modena. We are proud of our STUDENT ATHLETES.

Congratulations to our All League performers. Senior Alex Mascaro and Freshman Logan Honikel are 1st Team All Crestview League. Seniors Cade Hodge and Drew Rodriguez are 2nd Team selections. Alex will be pitching for the North squad in the Orange County All Star game on June 6th. Logan was named Crestview League Rookie of the Year. Cade was team MVP and Drew made All League in two sports. He was MVP of the North Hills League in basketball this year.

Gameday - Loara Tournament 3rd Place Game vs La Mirada 11 am Glover Stadium in Anaheim

Vanguards drop a tough one to VP. The team looks to right the ship today against La Mirada at Glover Stadium in Anaheim. This is the rescheduled 3rd place game of the Loara Tournament.

Vanguards improve to 9-3 (1-1) on the season with a 2-0 victory over Foothill. We host Villa Park at 3:15 on Friday

The Vanguards beat Foothill 2-0 behind the arm and bat of senior Alex Mascaro. CG 1H Shutout with 9 K's and a 2 Run single in the bottom oof the 7th to take the lead.

The Vanguards open league today by hosting El Dorado at 3:15pm. Come out and watch two of Orange County's top teams battle.

Due to rain, today's contests against Esperanza have been rescheduled for April 12. Next up, the Vanguards take on Brea HS at Angel Stadium at 6:20 pm Tuesday March 14. Stay away rain! Admission is free.

The Vanguards battle against Santa Ana this morning wanting to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to Canyon yesterday. Alex Mascaro threw 6 innings with 0 Earned Runs and 7 Strikeouts. Greg Koutures had 2 hits . First pitch at 11 am today.

Gameday! Finally. The varsity Vanguards host Canyon today at 3pm. The sun will be out. Come support the squad.

Rain has knocked out Saturday’s games for all levels. Games will be made up in the future.

The Vanguards beat Downey 4-2. Nick Santivanez (2024) threw 4.1 solid innings striking out 7-and was 3-3 . Freshmen Logan Honikel went 4-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Travis Collins /ack Selvey combined for 2.2 IP of scoreless relief. The team is now 5-1 on the season.

The varsity Vanguards take on Carson HS at Brookurst Park in Anaheim in a 3rd round matchup in the Loara Tournament. Game time is 3pm.
