Sometimes, when you see a last minute, late night reservation pop up at Cinderella’s Royal Table, you make a snap decision to close down Magic Kingdom. I am anxious. I am often scared of new things and my number one vision of driving my own ATV for the first time involved immediately crashing it into a tree. Which meant, about fifteen minutes into the tour, we got to pause for a solid five minutes of anxious crying.

And then I took things at my own pace. I learned how fast I needed to turn and the feeling that I might crash into a tree at any moment subsided. So, helmet back on, we headed out into the desert with one very confused guide. He was even more confused when I followed him into the little course with tons of banked turns. Sometimes, you just need a minute to get comfy, y'know?

Travel moments that changed my brain chemistry #1

I was so goddamn jet lagged. You can see it in my eyes. I made it off the plane, somehow managed a taxi to Hong Kong Disneyland where I dropped off my stuff at the brand-new Explorers Lodge hotel, changed into fresh clothes, and headed straight off into my first foreign Disney park. I remember so little of that first day other than the almost drunken feeling of euphoria that this adventures was really, truly happening. I’d made it. Every little piece of that park, every snack, every attraction felt like a discovery.

And then I showered and fell asleep in my towel on top of my covers for fifteen hours. Jet lag.

So like, it's 2022. What the hell does a travel agent even do?

The question on everyone’s minds. What in the name of god does a travel agent do in the year of our lord 2022? Fair question.

Travel has sometimes felt like it’s something not for me. I’m too chubby, too alternative, too anxious. I’m not fit enough (nor interested) in week long backpacking journeys. I like being comfortable, but I hardly fit in at luxury spots. I’m q***r and polyamorous and my idea of an ideal life isn’t exactly a traditional nuclear family.

But I love to travel. I love new places, finding the perfect spot to grab breakfast, navigating new public transit systems, all of it. I want to spend my life waking up in as many new places as I can. And I want that for you too, if you want it.

So, here I am. My aim is to create travel experiences for those who have felt like I have, that these experiences somehow weren’t for them. To show that no matter your preference, your interests, your appearance, or the structure of your relationships nobody is too much of anything to travel.
