Well after moving and still some unpacking to do, I have my rod building bench set up (mostly)!
I did this about four years ago. Thought I would post it so people can see what this actually is. It’s called flocking but it’s not shrink tube flock it’s a different type of flocking. Hope you enjoy!

Looking good so far!
I’m in the process of building, a long handle rod for snook, jacks, trout, and probably a group or two in the inner coastal waters.  I’m using a Bushido LS76/12 to 25 pound rating.
I’ve got the guides roughly placed where they’re going to be and took it out for a test cast on the golf course. I think the distance between a men’s tee
off and a woman’s tee off is 40 yards and that’s what I was getting for a cast, not too bad!  the balance in the real seed area over the length of the rod is really good to.

Well folks, had a great vacation but came back with Covid, I suppose it’s not as bad as it could be since I have been vaccinated and boostered.

Every so often I get picture from people I’ve built a custom fishing rod for. In this case TJ Garbs is one of those people!
TJ is using an American Tackle Company Bushido CB72/8-15 blank cut down to 7ft to pull in fish like the pictures below.
Can you guess which one is the 34” 31 pound black drum that took him 35 minutes to land?
This is a guy who knows how to fish!
