Centers & Circle Time

This week we created a restaurant in our class. The students helped create the menu, and took turns being the hostess, the customer, the chef, and the server.

While the rest of the school was celebrating Moms with nice pastel colors of pink and green. My class theme was Wonder Woman! Yes! That's right! My Moms work hard, do drop off, pick up, take care of sick children, sick husbands, elderly parents. They pack lunches, read stories, hustle to doctors appointments. I am in awe each day how they get it all done! This week I had the pleasure of hosting my Mom's in my class with their students. It was truly a joy.

I was hoping to have a price drop right before Christmas BUT looks like I'll have to wait closer to Mother's Day. Ahh, the joys of being an independent author!

Dear Teacher, Provider, Early Childhood Educator, Para, Mama, Papa, Substitute, and every other person who invest in little ones...You've spent the first few months getting to know them, building trust, building relationships, creating a family. Take the time NOW to REST and REFLECT on all you do. Morning Rituals: Do you have a morning ritual or routine for your students? We'd love for you to share.

Fine Motor Skills: Skills that involve using your fingers and hands to complete a task. Provide your kids with playdoh, opportunities to cut, weaving, sorting, etc. What's your favorite fine motor skill activities?

Lunch: Its about lunch time. Are you making great conversation starters for your students? Most kids don't have this bonding time at home.

Snack Center: Create a snack rebus, place it in the your Snack Center, Give instructions on the amount each child can use.

Math Center: Have a "favorite holiday cookie" poll. Once all the kids "vote", count the votes during circle time. Create a chart and place it in your Math Center.

Creating a special Fall Center: fall books, fall colored paper, markers, posters, leaves, play apples, etc. Encourage students to use the special fall center to explore fall related materials, ideas, and experiences.
