On Saturday, August 19th, 2023, Officers from the Osceola Police Department and the Blytheville Police Department participated in a joint training activity. The training consisted of critical incident scenarios involving school threats and was conducted at the Osceola Police Department and Osceola High School. The scenarios were centered around active shooting simulations and consisted of force on force training. Force on force training not only helps the Officers experience live real world scenarios but also ensures the safety of the Officers and other individuals involved. It also gives the Officers the opportunity to be critiqued by those individuals who are role playing. Training such as this is vital because it helps the Officers when they respond to the needs of the community and how to address them. This training was made possible thanks to equipment that was provided from the Law Enforcement Training Academy at Black River Technical College and the Mississippi County Sheriffโs Department. A special thanks is also given to the Osceola School District for the use of their facility as well as those School District Employees who participated. We also want to thank the members of the Osceola City Council that attended.
Reminder, you can prevent yourself from being a victim by completing a simple task. Lock your vehicle and remove your valuables. Donโt make yourself an easy target.
