Koch Physical Therapy

We had so much fun at a Cleveland Guardians ⚾️ game with family+friends last night (even though we’re Reds fans 😉)! Naturally, there were lots of various drinks and bathroom breaks among the group over the course of several hours. Being a pelvic floor therapist, I couldn’t help but think about the bladder aspect of things whenever the “breaking the seal” jokes came out 😂 (specifics about that myth is another post for another day).

Many people don’t realize it, but certain things, especially:
☕️🥤 Caffeine
🫧 Carbonation
🍻🍷Alcohol and
🍊🍋Citrus can have an irritating effect on the bladder. That could mean more frequent bathroom breaks, more urgency, and potentially more leaks 💦. Granted, what bothers one person, may be totally fine for another person…but it’s helpful to at least be aware of those irritants.

Sometimes people find that a glass of wine (a single irritant) is less bothersome than a Captain+Coke (a triple irritant), for instance. And it can be helpful to hydrate between irritants, like maybe putting a little time and water between drinks or cups of coffee! ☕️😉

Just a reminder! 😎 My summer schedule is variable (8-6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus a floating half day which varies week to week) so that I can squeeze in some memories with my family. Everything is bookable online at KochPT.com or via text/message/call. I’m typically booking 2-3 weeks out, so if you don’t see anything available for a while, that means all available appointments are currently booked. But just like always, if you don’t see something that works for you or if you’re in significant pain, feel free to reach out directly to me! I do have a waitlist so I can notify you if something opens up sooner, or sometimes I’m able to find some wiggle room in my schedule, depending on the day. I’m here for you! 🤗

I always struggle with taking time away from work or making patients wait more than a few days before getting an appointment, especially if they’re in pain. But Koch PT, since the beginning and still now, is a part-time dream of mine— because these girls are growing up way too fast and they are my #1 dream. Taking a Koch 5 vacation to Disney last week was everything I dreamed it would be and more. ❤️ I hope I never forget how their faces lit up, how their giggles and shrieks of excitement filled the air, and how much joy we all felt experiencing it together 🥰

I will continue to work through the wait list if openings or cancellations pop up, but otherwise, just a heads up that my next opening (just a few options) is Thursday, June 13th.

PSA‼️ If you’re wanting to schedule an evaluation, a follow-up treatment or dry needling session, my next opening is Tuesday, June 4th. Being super full is a good problem to have 🙃 but please keep that in mind if you’re scheduling online or contacting me to schedule. I’d suggest snagging a follow-up appointment within a week or two of your evaluation so that you don’t have a significant gap between appointments.

Also, my wait list can be clutch! 👌🏼 You can add yourself to the wait list online or ask me to add you to it (you can specify days/times you’re available). Then you’ll get dibs on an opening if something pops up sooner!

My schedule will be changing a little once school is out, because I’ve got three amazing kiddos that need me too 🥰 More on that another day!
