Important update:

Starting March 1, 2024, Uplift Aesthetics KC will be charging $12/unit for Botox injections.

The cost for Botox until March 1 will remain $11/unit. February and March availability are updated on the booking site (link in bio).

This adjustment is a result of changes in pricing from Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox. This decision was not taken lightly, and I remain committed to providing you with the highest quality care, as well as continuing to offer Botox on the low-end of cost in comparison to other local and national companies. I truly appreciate your understanding and continued support!!

Xeomin will stay the same at $10/unit. As a reminder, Xeomin is also botulinum toxin type A, so it works very similarly to Botox by blocking signals between nerves and muscles so the injected muscle can’t contract and wrinkle the skin.

Xeomin differs in that it doesn’t contain “extra” proteins (which are produced by the same bacteria that makes the toxin). The way Xeomin is manufactured removes these proteins from the active ingredient, botulinum toxin type A, so it is considered more “pure.”
Some doctors theorize that purer toxin formulations may be less likely to cause drug resistance over time, though this has yet to be clinically proven.

💉What affects how long your Botox lasts? 💉
☀️Your metabolism – Your body chemistry will process Botox on its own timeframe, with a range of 2-5 months, but average lasting 3-4 months.
☀️The size and depth of your wrinkles – People with fine lines may enjoy their Botox longer than those with more prolonged wrinkles and bulkier muscle tissue.
☀️Your physical activity level – Higher physical activity could result in shorter Botox longevity
☀️The area being treated – Results in the forehead and between the eyebrows typically last the longest.
☀️Your facial expressions – Some patients are more fortunate and “forget” to use their facial muscles even after the effects of Botox wear off. Their results will last longer than those who are extremely animated with their facial expressions.
☀️The amount of Botox injected – There is no one-size fits all standard recipe for Botox. Your treatment should be tailored to your muscles’ specific level of activity strength and bulk. Larger muscles require more Botox.
☀️How often you have Botox treatments – The more frequently you have Botox injections, the longer the effect will last between visits.
☀️Other potential factors – Some patients will experience a shorter longevity of Botox if they are ill or stressed.

There are definite advantages to incorporating neurotoxin treatment into your skincare routine at a younger age. Wrinkles form because of repeated muscle contractions (facial expressions), so by slowly and subtly decreasing the use of these muscles early in life, development and settling of visible lines can be halted. Preventative Botox® injections also help “train” targeted muscles to relax, further delaying wrinkles.

If you regularly get neurotoxin treatments (like Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin) and have noticed they seem slightly less effective, don't last quite as long, or require more frequent touch-ups, there may be a surprising reason. A new study has found that neuromodulator injections may be less effective in those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine or have been infected with COVID-19.

Doctors don't know for sure why some neuromodulator users may be experiencing this, but one theory is that “the immune response from the vaccine somehow blunts the efficacy of the neuromodulator." It is important to note that this initial study was very small, and most people will still find neuromodulators to be effective, but just some food for thought, and another reason to hate COVID, as if we needed another one!
