Exercise: Partner Assisted PVC Anti Rotation Athletes get a lot of rotational work but one thing they do not get enough of is resisting rotation. Anti-rotation work is great to not overtrain rotation while helping the body learn to resist over-rotation which can help prevent injuries. This progression here adds a band where the athlete has to resist the forces from the band, which is controlled by a partner. To make it even harder, l have the athlete close their eyes so they cannot prepare for the lateral force. Great drill for rotational sports and contact sports. #psp3family Thanks to @aaron.galli and @brandon_neis22 for the demo!

Dealing with sports that work in multiple planes of motion it is imperative to train those motions to improve performance on the field. Here is one of the exercises we like to use to stimulate, and attack lateral & rotational movement at the same time. Hop + MB Side Toss x3-5 reps per side, per set (keep this medicine ball lighter 6-10lbs to elicit power/speed) Use this great exercise to attack those two planes of motion, and watch the results show on the field! #psp3family

Coaches…..are you looking for other ways to continue to push your athletes to give more effort and intensity in the weight room?! Using laser timers, velocity based training (VBT) equipment, oscillation exercises and timed sets are great ways that as coaches we can use to push our athletes to give more intent in the weight room. All of these have instant feedback, allowing athletes to push themselves to beat a given time/speed/reps. #psp3family

🚨EXERCISE TIP🚨 Do you struggle trying to get the correct front rack position when doing cleans or front squats? Do your wrists always hurt when performing these exercises? More than likely you’re not suffering from inflexible wrists, you’re suffering from the inability to externally rotate at the shoulder. Try this exercises to open up that front rack position: PVC T Spine Mobility x8 reps - Elbows should maintain contact with bench the entire time - Fully exhale as sitting back on heels - Bend elbows beyond 90 degrees for a deeper triceps stretch Now go get after those weights!!! #psp3family #techniquetip

🚨Accommodating Resistance🚨 What is it? Accommodating resistance is a type of resistance training where bands or chains are added to help increase overall strength and power Why do we use it? By adding chains or bands to an exercise we can overload a weaker position of a lift, allowing the athlete to become stronger in that position or create more velocity throughout the entire movement How do we use it? Overload or under load, we use chains/bands to a movement for added strength (heavier weight) OR to help increase the force velocity curve (lighter weight) Who to use it with? Advanced lifters who have a good strength base #psp3family #liftsmarter #accommodatingresistance

🚨BENCH PRESS TIP🚨 Too often we see athletes that do not know how to “set” their shoulders when bench pressing. The back adds stability to our bench and pressing without stability will hinder your chances of pushing big weight. In your warmups give this drill a shot. “Overhead Band Pulldown” is a great drill to not only learn to create tension throughout the bar but also learn how to pull your shoulders down/together, to “set” before bringing the bar to your chest. 1-2 sets of 8-10 reps and you will be feeling the difference! #psp3family #trainsmarter
