Sometimes in life, we have what can seem like tiny victories that we are so grateful to have happened. Sometimes, when we are moving through health challenges, getting older, or getting through whatever the day may bring, prayers are sometimes just right for these tiny moments of gratitude. Here is a beautiful prayer from "Irreverent Prayers," a book by Elizabeth Felicetti and Samantha Vincent-Alexander written in context of their recoveries from major illness:

Elementary ROTC is in full swing!! We have had a great first two days of work and play! Yesterday we worked with The Starfish Project to help organize clothes and food for their free store, as well as making plastic yarn mats out of recycled bags. In the afternoon we explore Ernie Miller Nature Center! Today we worked with After The Harvest and Resurrection Giving Garden to pick tomatoes for donation, then we spent the afternoon splashing at the pool!

Friends...we have a few spots remaining for our Elementary "Reaching Out to the Community" camp next week (9am-4pm Monday July 22-Friday July 26). We'll be visiting favorites like The Starfish Project, After the Harvest, KC Pet Project and Harvesters as well as fun spots including Tomahawk Ridge Pool, Bowlero and Dave n' Busters! The sooner we can fill these spots, the better our staff can plan ahead for everyone! If you know a kiddo needing who's feeling a little cabin fever at this point in the summer, point them our direction! St. Thomas Summer Camps are open to ALL!

Elementary (3rd-6th) Reaching Out to the Community 2024!

A helpful prayer from St Francis, may our hearts turn from violence to peace:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.
