We are less than a month away from our Athlete's Edge Summer Program at BioFitKC! This year's camp will be offered at a 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟔:𝟎𝟎𝐩𝐦 - 𝟕:𝟑𝟎𝐩𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬.
Young Athletes in our program learn to understand foundational movements to improve body strength and reduce risk of injury. This camp is a great compliment and addition to sports camps.

Walk this way to a better brain 🧠🚶🏽‍♂️

We often make things more complicated than necessary when aiming to boost brain health. A recent study from the University of Pittsburgh revealed that engaging in 40-minute walks three times weekly enhanced hippocampal size and memory function among older adults. This regimen led to a 2% increase in hippocampal volume, effectively counteracting the age-related decline observed over 1-2 years. So tie on those walking shoes and get to steppin’!

Walking (or movement) is one of the brain health fundamentals. Plenty of evidence now shows that walking is a non-negotiable for your brain health. Research shows that a daily walk of 30 minutes a day (at a moderate pace) is associated with increased synchronicity of different brain networks important for all of our most important functions (problem-solving, thinking about others, decision-making, focus, etc…)
