Lenny dropped off 48 new backpacks to the Seminole County Correctional Facility from Helping Hand 2 U❣️ We loaded them with useful supplies, tasty goodies, and Underwooding love. These will be given to homeless inmates as they are released to provide a few resources as they get started out.

Tomorrow's the big day! Hope to see many of our friends at Eola Park to serve our homeless friends there, Christmas morning starting at 9:00 a.m. If you're coming to donate food or to serve it, please come a little early, 8:30 or so to help with set up.

Happy Valentine's Day!! Helping Hands has helped Pastor Lenny distribute 150 backpacks full of essentials to the homeless in our community. What a wonderful way of sharing God’s love with the most needy!

As our country and world continue to deal with seemingly ever changing circumstances we need to be especially patient and slow to anger in our dealings with others. Understand we are all imperfect and need extra grace during hard times. And, don’t forget to extend that grace to yourself as well. Take time to relax and refill your soul so you can feel God’s calming presence when you need Him most.

Let us not forget to pray for our country and its leaders, now more than ever. Pray for their health, wisdom, & courage, and for God’s will to be done. Also, be in prayer for our church as we focus on our future steps as a congregation.

Timothy 2:1-2 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Hello East Pointe Family,

We are getting ready to hit the streets!! Several of our Helping Hands volunteers have been hard at work putting together some really nice supply bags for the homeless. Since we won't be able to provide our usual buffet meals, we decided to provide some basic essentials to those in need. We will hand them out in two locations, and would love to have folks join in distributing God's love to the needy.

Plan to arrive at 10am this Sunday morning at one of the locations to hand out the bags and some bottled waters. Irene and Patty will be driving her truck to the area near the Coalition where we did our lunch feedings, on Grove Park Blvd off Terry Street. Angie and Lenny will be going to Lk. Eola near the bandshell off Rosalind Ave. where we did our breakfast feedings. We ask anyone volunteering to follow social distancing protocols and wear face masks to protect those we are helping.

Painting at Ms. Nita's September 2020 With Paul, Brother Chuck and Charlie painting on a nice sunny Sunday morning. The corona virus has stretched this activity from March to now, but we're getting very close to being done.

Helping Hands delivered the goods! School supplies to Stenstrom Elementary, that is. ☺️On Wednesday afternoon we met with the new principal, Jake N., and our helpful friend Debbie G. from the office. It felt good to be there and see our old place, but also a bit sad since things have changed so much for us since then.

We provided 36 sets of in-person classroom supplies as well as a number of extra items for their teacher supply storeroom. We also included 3 sets of helpful items for the virtual teachers. In each bag we added a small appreciation note to the teachers along with an Underwooding card. (Pictures are included of everything.)

Even though we weren’t able to provide our tasty welcome back breakfast, they were very appreciative and grateful for our donation. Since no group meetings are being held for safety reasons, we arranged all the supplies by grade in the media center so teachers could come by individually to pick up their set.

I want to give a big THANK YOU to Jane for all her help assembling, delivering, and setting up the supplies! And also, a huge thanks to everyone for continuing to support our Helping Hands ministry, which makes this possible! It is a joy to be able to honor Bill and to continue serving our community by sharing God’s love.

Happy 4th of July! It’s a typical Florida summer, hot and humid with the thunderstorms rolling in daily. Praying you all are finding fun ways to enjoy the day and celebrate our country’s Independence Day!

When we are kids we think when we are grown up we will be free to do whatever we want instead of what our parents tell us. And while that is true, what we learn is that even though we do have the freedom to choose, our choices become tempered with a desire to help or serve others. Here is what the Bible says about how we should use our freedom.

Galations 5:13-15 NIV You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

With all the upheaval in the world right now we can lose sight of the good and joyful things. But, if we let ourselves see the beauty of the world we live in and recognize the good things we see the people around us doing, we can realize that God is still in control. The devil works hard to make the evil in the world seem prevalent. But God is there if we choose to see Him.

This week, let’s all try to only post positive comments on social media, to only say words that encourage the people we see during our daily tasks, and to watch for God’s hand at work in the world around us. We’d love to hear about any interesting encounters you have from sharing God’s love! Feel free to post your uplifting stories to our page. Let God’s goodness shine for the world to see!
